Perilous: The Times in Which We Now Live

perilous

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
–2Timothy 3:1

The Bible warns of the pitfalls of the end times.

One of these warnings concern the “perilous times” that shall come.

And so they have come.

Many readers, when they hear the word “perilous,” assume that the word means physical peril; i.e., dangerous physical events.  This is true, there will be much physical peril to believers and non-believers both.

But perilous times can also mean peril brought about by deception; i.e., deceptively perilous times.

There are numerous other biblical warnings of the great end times deception which mankind will be surrounded by.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
–Matthew 24:24

Few now believe the Bible. Fewer still heed its warnings.

And so, mankind is inundated with deception. Much of the deception is that which man has been clearly warned. But because modern man does not believe the Bible, he is victim to the deception about which he has been warned for the past couple of thousand years.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
–2Timothy 3:1

Yes, there will be physical perils in the end times: the times in which we now find ourselves.

But the physical perils have been preceded by perils of deception: so much so that man lives in a false reality which he believes to be true.

If man does not know the problem, he can not find the solution.

And so the times in which we now live are perilous indeed.

Perilously deceptive.

THERE is still time to change direction (repent) and place one’s trust in Almighty God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3
