Will Hate Crimes Legislation Usher in Persecution in the USA?

Will Courts in the USA imprison Pastors for Preaching Biblical Doctrines?

Why not?  With Hate Crime laws already on the book, it’s only a matter of time.  One man’s Biblical truths are another man’s “hate crimes.”

Especially if that man in an enforcer of our largely-godless nation’s largely-godless laws.

This topic of possibly imprisoned pastors was discussed on the Internet about six months ago (November 2012) but has mostly disappeared since then.  Maybe it’s time to bring it back up?

What happens when one places one’s faith in the U.S. Constitution instead of the Bible?  How about the following:

Court Upholds Law That Could Imprison Pastors For Preaching Biblical Doctrines

“It will be the first time in our nation’s history that Christians will be openly and legally persecuted.” — Rep. Steven King (R-IA)

But not the last, Mr. King.

Not the last.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
–Matthew 24:9

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
–2 Timothy 3:12

One should not look to the U.S. Supreme Court for help. That body was not constituted to interpret God’s laws.

The true Christian, however, should rejoice at the chance to suffer for Jesus Christ.

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
— Romans 8:18

“If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”
— 1 Peter 4:14

Imprisoning Christian pastors for preaching the Word of God is not something that many in the Church will cheer.  However, any Spirit-led pastor might well rejoice at any future persecution.

And cry, “Hallelujah!”

And if things “wax worse and worse”?

“The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church.”
