Persecute: To oppress or harass with ill-treatment, especially because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or beliefs
Source: The Free Dictionary
According to a recent report from The Blaze an Oregon Christian couple, owners of a bakery, have been harassed, threatened, and shunned–‘socially and economically isolated’–after they refused to bake a ‘Gay’ wedding cake. The threats, vile, including harm to their children. Threats which include prosecution from the government for ‘possible discrimination’.
What we have, based on the report, is a pattern of harassment based on ‘religion’, the Christian values of the owners of the bakery. Those ‘values’, according to the government, constitute ‘discrimination’ against sexual orientation.
It’s worth repeating, sexual orientation, in this ‘enlightened age’, trumps religious freedom of Bible believing Christians.
Matthew 5:11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
The photo from another article on this subject posted by the Blaze reveals a cute little bakery with Christian crosses decorating the walls.
She Said/He Said
The mother of the bride filed a complaint with the state claiming the owner called her daughter and partner “abominations unto the Lord”. Enter Oregon’s ‘civil complaints’ police. The owner denied the accusation. As yet no ‘charges’ have been filed against the bakery owners while the shunning and harassment continues.
