CHINA: China summons US official over Obama meeting with Dalai Lama – There are no heroes at the international level of power politics. As in national affairs, there is one team: Team NWO. Obama and the Daila Lama have their parts to play, just as China does. At the end of the day–much like the Republicans and the Democrats, after the cameras are turned off–Obama, the Chinese and DL all probably kick back, have some rice wine and sushi and have a good laugh.
CHINA: US vs China: Is this the new Cold War? – The original Cold War lasted about 44 years (1945-1989). This one will be much shorter.
IRAN: Iranian animated film depicts nuclear ‘holocaust’ against Israel Film depicts how the Islamic Republic might respond to an American or Israeli strike on its nuclear facilities. – At some point, the leaders of Iran and Israel will stop fighting their very public war in the media. But that point isn’t today.
At least 9 states rebelling against ObamaCare – Staying with the revolt/rebel/revolution meme so popular in the Media these days…
Feds spend $356,337 on ‘Simulation Facility’ to study how people cross the road – Over a third of a million dollars to the government is like 1/100th of a penny to ordinary Americans. Someone is sticking this money in their pocket–or their friend’s pocket. Or their associate’s pocket. Or their associate’s friend’s pocket. Or…
Senator Mikulski says fear about cellphone Kill Switch are “conspiratorial” – Three senators have introduced legislation to require cellphone companies to construct a “kill switch.” The good senator insists that its because she is so very concerned that people are getting their cellphones stolen. Sen. Mikulski just wants to help! And anyone who disagrees with her is a “conspiratorial!”
At least she didn’t use the word “h8r.”
Flu hitting young and middle age adults unusually hard – Or at least something that’s being identified as “flu.”
20 Beach Photographs that make you wish you were right there right now – A reminder that the Bible states that at some point, there will be no more sea.
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
Thieves in Chicago area steal 80 tons of road salt – Maybe that’s why the rest of the nation has been so stingy with salting roads this winter?!?
CBS Philadelphia has a new guide for guys and guess what it’s called?
No no no. It doesn’t stand for extrasensory perception–which is the modern way of saying “contact with the demonic.” No. CBS says it stands for Eat. See. Play. Oh. Glad that’s cleared up.
Interesting graphics, though…
Plan to split California into six states moves forward – Is this the reason that Google capitalizes parts of California? Instead of “northern California,” “central California” or “southern California” its been Google-ized into Northern California, Central California and Northern California many places on Google–especially Google maps.
The proposal would create the states of West California Central California, North California, South California, Silicon Valley and Jefferson (the most northern part of California).
One suspects that natural calamities will split California into smaller chunks before the government gets around to it.
“A new study of online dating profiles reveals that women respond 31 percent better to men who use the word “whom.” Frankly, I don’t know whom these men are, or whom they’re trying to impress.”
Miley Cyrus displeases parents with porn show parody – The only reason for posting this link is the picture. The Cyrus shtick is both monotonous and predictable.
Here a clue for deceived celebrities: once you’ve gone naked and simulated sex in public, what else is there to do for shock value? The photo is interesting because it raises the question: Does M. Cyrus get a bonus every time she stick out her tongue in public? As much as Cyrus has appeared nude in public, the most over-exposed part of her anatomy is her tongue.
Of course, sticking out one’s tongue is a sign of rebellion. Wonder if that has anything to do with it or if that’s merely another coincidence?
“The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.”
—Nahum 1:3 – (h/t:B)
What do vegetarian zombies eat? – Seriously. Daily Zombie Link
QUESTIONS FOR ATHEISTS – There are times that Christians shoot themselves in their foot–though they have the best of intentions. A website that proposes to settle questions about Christianity based on evidence, proof and logic presents the linked article.
The premise sounds reasonable: atheists are usually asking Christians questions (which is not a bad thing actually), so why not “turn the tables” and ask the atheists a few questions?
However, while this sounds good, there are several things wrong with this approach, which is not very biblical.
1- This appeals to the Christians’ ‘pride of life’ and moves the focus off of Jesus Christ.
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
—1 John 2:16
Do we want to win souls or do we want to win debate points? These discussions are not winnable using the world’s methods. The Christian is to win souls–not debates.
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
The gospel is the tool that God uses–not rhetoric or logic or evidence or proof. Specifically, the preaching of the gospel.
“For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”
—1 Corinthians 1:21
Sure, Christians are human: they chafe at the world’s labels of “uneducated,” “illiterate” and “idiots.” (The linked articles’ words, not this writer’s.) But is engaging the unbeliever on his own turf the answer? Is appealing to the atheists’ reason the way Christians are supposed to approach unbelievers?
Will a debate over evidence and proof win one soul to Christ?
The Bible says it won’t.
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
We’re to walk in wisdom and focus on the cross of Christ. When Christians lose focus of the true issue, they exchange their most powerful weapon for the tools of the enemy.
Christians seem to be doing a lot of this lately: fighting by the world’s rules of engagement.
2- The questions presented in this article are a good example of trying to fight the enemy on his terms. They sound good to the Christian–but will likely prove ineffective at winning the souls of atheists. If the author had visited websites frequented by atheists, he would already know that atheists engage most of the questions presented in this article.
Atheists already have answers to most of the questions presented. Sure, as Christians we believe that their answers are wrong, but atheists don’t.
So then we’re back to square one again.
And Christians should keep one important point in mind: it is God who offers salvation as a free gift, not us. We merely are the presenters, nothing more. Contrary to much of what’s being taught, being more “persuasive” has nothing to do with whether an unbeliever truly experiences a a new birth or not.
3- Some of the questions don’t even sound good to the Christian.
“How can the Second Law of Thermodynamics be reconciled with progressive, naturalistic evolutionary theory?”
Is this the way to win souls? Quick: all readers who can recite the Second Law of Thermodynamics, raise your hands.
“How do you explain the thousands of people who have experienced heaven or hell and have come back to tell us about it?”
Though “dying” or “being sent back from the dead” to testify of heaven or hell is a fairly common phenomena in our own times, it is not biblical.
“Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
It’s very human to want to win an argument. However, nowhere in the Bible is winning arguments mentioned as a method of soul winning.
Yes, we’re to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered” (Jude 3)–but that is among believers, not unbelievers (who are not part of the “common salvation” to which Jude refers).
Yes, “Christian apologetics” is speaking in defense of Christianity. But much of Christian apologetics is practically concerned with the issues raised by false teachers and those who are supposed to be Christians. False teachers was the theme of Jude.
For Christians who believe we are living in the end times, we’re given the formula to be “overcomers.”
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Preach the gospel and let the atheists win their debate points. At the end of the day, Christians will be happy they did.
DATA: USA is a couch potato nation – “Exercise sedentary”–in case anyone doesn’t like being called a “couch potato.”
(VIDEO) Best of a normal day – One has to wonder how many hours were spent perfecting the skills exhibited in this short video…
Pole shift (w/VIDEOS) – Remarkable that when what the Bible says will come true begins to appear on the earth, that those of this world declare it a “catastrophe”–and the Bible says they will say that, too. And right up until that time of judgment, men will claim it is something, anything but God who is responsible for what is happening. The Bible calls that one, too.
“The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,”
–2 Peter 3:3
More black babies killed by abortion in NYC than are born – Planned Parenthood was started by Margaret Sanger, an outspoken proponent of eugenics (getting rid of people of color). Although the Corporate Media has worked overtime trying to clean up Sanger’s racist past, many pictures of her speaking to KKK meetings are still available on the Internet.
One of Sanger’s first clinics was–surprise!–opened in Harlem in the 1920s. That blacks have helped assist in their own demise is no surprise. Middle class whites and Christians are two other groups in America which also have enthusiastically supported organizations committed to their ultimate destruction.
“Last week it was reported that the churches of America increased their membership by 690,000. Are you encouraged by these figures? I for my part am not encouraged a bit. I have indeed my own grounds for encouragement. . . . But these figures have no place among them. How many of these 690,000 names do you think are really written in the Lamb’s book of life? A small proportion, I fear. Church membership today often means nothing more, as has well been said, than a vague admiration for the moral character of Jesus; the Church in countless communities is little more than a Rotary Club. . . . It will be hard; it will seem impious to timid souls; many will be hurt. But in God’s name let us get rid of shams and have reality at last.”
—J. Gresham Machen, 1926 – (h/t:BP)
88 years later: has the situation improved or gotten worse?
Nearly half of water taps may contain bacteria which caused Legionnaire’s Disease – There’s a steady meme that been developing in the Corporate Media over the last 6-8 month over the risks of drinking tap water, fruit juice, drinks made with tap water, etc. So what is left?
So what’s in the bottled water that the Media is driving Americans to?
There are clues–but that’s another piece, another time.
Baltimore’s people of the woods: Inside the hidden homeless camps made of milk crates, wooden doors and tarps on the outskirts of town – “People of the Woods” sounds a lot like “Children of the Corn.” You heard it here first.
“A new survey named Vienna, Austria, the world’s best city. Vienna came out on top in this survey because it was No. 1 in three important categories: public transportation, clean air, and the quantity of teeny-tiny sausages.”
Psycho Facts – The Internet is home to millions of pages of “facts” which, one suspects, are anything but. The one “fact” that stands out in this collection:
“Video games train your brain to make faster real life decisions.”
Sure they do.
That’s why all the largest companies pay their top employees to sit around playing video games all day.
This country will never run out of people laboring in the attempt to turn vice into virtue.
The Perils of being an Atheist – (h/t:B)
An atheist was walking through the woods.
‘What majestic trees!’
‘What powerful rivers!’
‘What beautiful animals!’
He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer.
He tripped & fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him…
At that instant moment, the Atheist cried out:
‘Oh my God!’
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky.
‘You deny my existence for all these years, teach others I don’t exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident.’
‘Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?’
‘Am I to count you as a believer?’
The atheist looked directly into the light, and said: ‘It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian?’
‘Very well’, said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed. And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head & spoke:
‘Bless this food, which I am about to receive from Thy bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen.’
Tornadoes rattle Midwest and South leaving thousands without power as nation braces for ANOTHER Arctic blast – These days, it doesn’t just get cold in the winter. It gets Arctic cold. Arctic blast cold.
How do you weaponize a rabbit? – Odd story. The story says that it’s about “terrorists” using a “bacteria found in rabbits.” It’s about death and disease–but the article is written as if the whole thing is a joke. Which, if the whole story be known, one suspects is true.
