NORTH KOREA: North, South Korea exchange fire across disputed sea – Is it time to ramp up Korean tensions?
CHINA: China plans to cover world with surveillance satellites – It would take China years to match the surveillance king, the USA.
RUSSIA: Russians are voting with their feet – Over a million Russians work outside the country on a permanent basis.
IRAQ: Baghdad named World’s Worst City – The city has been the favorite since at least 2006. Good old American know-how!
Influential Republicans work to draft Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race – That most appealing political fairy tale: the man who has to be dragged to power and influence.
“For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.”
People want the Colbert Report canceled over a joke – We live in a country where cowards utter all sorts of uncivil and/or heinous remarks and then, when it gets too hot in the kitchen, they run and hide behind the skirts of “It was only a joke.” Stephen Colbert is merely the latest. The reason this crude behavior continues? There are no end of Corporate Media mouthpieces who reward it–such as the linked article. What’s truly unfortunate is that these cowards have instructed an entire generation to whine “I was only joking” or “I was only playing.”
Some maintain that these people have no talent. This writer disagrees. Colbert, Jon Stewart and their ilk do have a talent. They are the Apostles of the Lowest Common Denominator: appealing to base instincts and substituting lewdness and four-letter words for wit. That an entire generation has been trained to laugh at their antics confirms the theories of Pavlovian conditioning.
Scientists convince people their hands are made of rock – Speaking of Pavolian conditioning: the work continues…
Atheist director of NOAH brags that his film is “least Biblical film of all time” – Which come as a great surprise to all of those Christians who have defended the movie.
How a toxic leak made one town the subjects of a live human experiment – Interesting story of the WV toxic leak a few months back. The most interesting question of the piece: Will the water ever be safe to drink?
Bottled Water is more dangerous than tap water – In the times in which we live, the thought occurs: Is anything safe to eat? To drink?
The Most Expensive Burgers in America – Only in the Land of Excess could someone pay over $5000 for a hamburger.
“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:“

Super-Megalithic Site in Russia: Natural or Man-made? – (h/t:E) Some great pictures of the structure, some of the stones weighing over 3000 tons, couldn’t be lifted with today’s technology. Is it natural? It doesn’t appear to be so. Is it man-made? Hard to see how? Which leaves the door open to all sorts of “alien seed” and “space brothers” mythology–which are deceptions. The explanation? All explanations are speculation–including those of “science.”
Mysterious antique Spinx discovered in the Bahamas – More of the same.
When I say “I am a Christian” – This link is posted because it is a wonderful example of what many Christian websites in 2014 feature. While there is still some traditional Bible study going on, there seems to be much more posting of poems and quotes instead.
This poem is a good example. The poem, When I say “I am Christian” contains some good thoughts. The reader has to go all the way to the last verse to find the error–and it’s a common one for the times in which we live.
“When I say…”I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I’m loved.”
Not at all biblical although many Christians today believe it to be. Christians not only have the authority (of the Bible), they are commanded to judge
- not according to appearance [John 7:24]
- in righteousness [John 7:24];
- not to condemnation; [Luke 6:37]
- in love;
- fruit [Matthew 7:17-20]
- doctrinal error [2 Thessalonians 3:6]
- between the brethren [1 Corinthians 6:5]
- in a spirit of meekneess [Galatians 6:1]
Christians are not only to judge, they are commanded by the Bible to judge.
Of the one or two Bible verses the world is familiar with. Matthew 7:1 “Judge not” is their favorite.
“…we all know the atheist’s three favorite verses in the Bible: “Judge not lest you be judged” (Matthew 7:1), “He who is without sin cast the first stone” (John 8:7), and “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Why are these his favorites? Because they allow the atheist to escape accountability to God. He is guilty before God and doesn’t like to hear about it…”
It’s a sign of the times in which we live that many who call themselves Christians know the claims of the world better than they know the Bible.
With only a little effort, that defect could be remedied.

We know what you’re thinking: Scientists find a way to read your mind – Another fable for our time. If all of the nonsense claimed in the name of “science” were collected, it would fill a series of fairly large buildings.
The New York Times wonders “Does Porn hurt Children?”
Civilization’s Starter kit – Media articles are not only to inform; their primary purpose is to hide bits and pieces of disinformation and to reinforce earlier lies told.
“When settling down, ensure that your excrement isn’t allowed to contaminate your water source — this may sound obvious, but wasn’t understood even as late as the mid-19th century.”
Not entirely true. While “science” didn’t understand the principal, those who read the Bible understood the principle for thousands of years.
“You shall have a place outside the camp, and you shall go out to it. And you shall have a trowel with your tools, and when you sit down outside, you shall dig a hole with it and turn back and cover up your excrement.”
