Altered Spiritual Perception: The Altered Spiritual Reality in American Churches

ALTERED STATES OF PERCEPTION: Substituting altered realities for a "Move of God"

LOOKING FOR A “MOVE OF GOD”

IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES

MANIPULATING PERCEPTIONS TO OBTAIN A SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE is not foreign in the American Church. Control the perception and one controls the reality. Like the atmosphere at satanic dance shows, churches have begun manipulating the lighting, sound, beats, smells and other inputs in an effort to control the resulting spiritual experience. It’s all part of the new experience-based theology which promotes emotions and feelings over the Word of God.

 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

ALTERED PERCEPTION, ALTERED REALITY: THE NEW SPIRITUALITY IN THE AMERICAN CHURCH

MANIPULATING THE ATMOSPHERE IN SEARCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Are Christians being spiritually manipulated?

Some further observations about the modern American rituals and practices which Christians engage in to bring about what is commonly referred to as a “move of God” or a “move of the Spirit.”

The Emerging Spiritual Revolution – From 2007.

Mass revival was a method that was both “emotional and illogical” (p. 27), but that is what the leaders wanted. J. Edwin Orr, Armin Gesswein, Billy Graham, and others studied the mechanics of the revivals. Orr taught a class on “Spiritual Awakening” at Wheaton College in 1949 (p. 37). The goal of these revivals was to create a sensation of the “presence” of the Holy Spirit. By the 1970s, a mechanism for mass indoctrination was created that critic John E. Ashbrook referred to as “Explos and Extravanganzas” (New Neutralism II, Here I Stand, 1992, p. 77). Mass spiritual events in stadiums, could work people up into an emotional frenzy. And heightened emotions were supposed to be evidence of the “presence” of God.

Heightened emotions and altered states of perception and consciousness are the name of the game; both in electronic stadium dance rock and in American churches.

When this writer was a heathen, the electronic dance milieu was a very familiar one–until God, in His infinite mercy, saved a wretch from its pulsating grasp.  Praise God!  Anyone who has the least familiarity with dance culture and events will instantly recognize the many similarities between the world’s satanic shows and the “Christianized” praise and worship concerts of Christian music youth events.

“…at one point in my research I came across Qlimax events, and I had to turn the volume down completely because the video and music together are so disturbing. Incidentally, those events, which are completely demonic, looked and sounded very similar to Christian contemporary worship concerts that I have attended. The entertainers and the audience were both acting in the same ways, and I came to the conclusion that they were of the same spirit.”
comment, The Global Seduction is NOW, are you being seduced along with the world?

What’s the endgame?  Why the infusion of mood- and mind-altering atmosphere in Christian events?  Why all of the altered perception tricks and altered states of consciousness passed off as the Holy Spirit?

Sure, it’s all about bypassing the brain–which the Bible commands us to use while worshiping–and letting emotions and feelings taking over.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
Matthew 22:37

This is one reason false teachers have shifted the emphasis from worship using a conscious awareness of Scripture to an experience-based “modern” worship which works directly on the emotions of the one worshiping.

But it’s also about introducing the congregations to  a new power: the power of counterfeit spirits.

Many who sit in Christian churches, because they do not test the spirits as the Bible commands,  mistake these deceptive spirits in the Church for the Holy Spirit.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 John 4:1

COUNTERFEIT SPIRIT: There is one Holy Spirit. There are many lying and deceiving spirits, especially the spirit of antichrist.

COUNTERFEIT HOLY SPIRIT: Lying Spirits of Deception in the Churches

Spirits of deception and counterfeit spirits of God: they prepare those who sit in American churches for a coming event, led by a guy the Bible calls the “Man of Sin.”

MAN OF SIN: The Man of Sin is Coming

MAN OF SIN: Satan is Raising Up an End Times Army

Preparing the World for the Man of Sin, hidden in plain sight

While most Christians in America are listening to John MacArthur, Jimmy DeYoung, Brannon Howse & others say it’s OK to take the Mark of the Beast/Still be redeemed, they are also busy with their “Christian culture” of retreats, potlucks, “lift up your hand, come forward crusades” with flesh appealing rock music, political causes, and lifting up men who cover-up exposed liars, Satan is openly preparing the world to receive him.

[…]

These increasing global events are spreading like wildfire under the names of Qlimax, Tomorrowland, Global Journey, MysteryLand and others (SOURCE). These aren’t merely concerts but multi-day festivals where millions of people are increasingly attending globally and then they return back in to society after being programmed. The roots are being laid for the “man of sin” under the guise of entertainment.

What makes these events totally different than your normal concert is there is a open spiritual element being conveyed by Freemasonry and Satanism all under the guise of “love”. These multimillion dollar events are all over the world at the same time. These events take “entertainment” to another satanic spiritual level while all are blinded by Satan.

Altered perceptions begin by changing the atmosphere.  Lights, sounds, smells, physical activity:  anything that leads to heightened emotions and feelings and propels the worshiper to an emotional release which is passed off as a “move of God.”

The world has learned these tricks all too well.  Some in the Church are using them as well.

The following two videos contain footage of two youth music events.  One is openly occult and the other is “Christianized.”  Can the reader tell which is which without looking at the titles of the two videos?

The evil indoctrination in “christian” dance music and the rest of the world – Comparing two dance shows with worldly occult themes and one Hillsong show–with similar themes?!?  Can the reader make out any difference between the worldly and the “christianized”?

Practiced enough, altered perceptions many times become altered reality.  It’s all about altering perception, of shifting consciousness, of “losing yourself”: which readies the practitioner for a spiritual experience.  Christians are deceived into thinking this spirit is the Holy Spirit.

Those in the world know better.

Which makes those in the world both better informed and more discerning than many sitting in America’s churches.

Absolutely, pathetically sad.

  1. What struck me was your statement, “Those in the world know better.” They have to believe we’re complete fools and hypocrites!

They will never hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ from such “Christians”. Everything contradicts the holiness of God and reinforces human sinfulness. No Gospel, no power to lead others out of darkness. Mystery religion stuff from the world AND the “church”. So sad!

    1. AGI,

What struck me was your statement, “Those in the world know better.” They have to believe we’re complete fools and hypocrites!

It’s likely the ones who are behind these events believe Christians are complete fools and hypocrites. The rest of the world who are involved–those who are attending–probably don’t have many thoughts beyond “Party!” or “Good time!”

I believe you’re 100% correct about never hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ from such Christians.

Unfortunately, many Christians are now being programmed in their local churches with similar experiences–though the local churches don’t have nearly as impressive light shows and sound systems, of course. These experiences are being passed off as “moves of God” or “moves of the Spirit.”

One might ask “How could they be so gullible?”

There’s peer pressure and the thoughts that “This has to be good because everyone else is participating” and “It must be good because we’re participating in it–and we would never do anything that wasn’t from God. We’re concerned about holiness.”

      It’s sanctification through participation.

“It’s holy because we do it. Because we do it, it’s holy.”

There’s also a very large amount of self-congratulation, and self-assurance going on. It’s a circle of self-reinforcement. At every step along the way, the congregation is assured of its right behavior. The emotional releases passed off as touches from God are a validation that the entire event is what it’s purported to be.

There’s an air of super-spirituality and gnostic exclusivity. Others want to be involved in something super-spiritual. It appeals to the snob in everyone.

      “Wasn’t the service wonderful?”

If anyone points out how unbiblical it all is, they’re ostracized.

“Don’t you think God can move?” or “He thinks that God doesn’t do miracles anymore.” are commonplace. Controlling the atmosphere also means controlling anyone who isn’t 100% into the program.

“Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
      –Job 21:14

It’s not only in local churches, it’s spreading. Of this, I have personal experience.

Yes, there is a very large dose of ‘mystery religion stuff.” But American churches have been practicing all manner of ungodly rituals and beliefs for years, so this is just one more step along the progression.

I’ve seen things and wondered “Where the discernment? Why isn’t anyone else disturbed by what’s going on?”

      It is very sad.

But in the end, it boils down to having a love of the truth and a disregard for the opinion of those who are in the self-reinforcing ring of soothing assurances.

It won’t get better. It only gets worse.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts.

      God bless.

      1. Thanks for taking the time to read my comment, Jeremiah. I didn’t but I did reread yours. It is a post in itself, just not as formal. Lord bless you and strengthen you as you labor for Him!
This morning I followed your blog again. Hope that in some way this encourages you,

      2. Maria,

        Thank you.

Today I probably would have a lot shorter answer: the churches are corrupted. They are tools of the enemy and are awaiting the man of sin.

It’s a sad situation, but every church I visit seems to get worse. The wolves in the pulpits must be preaching from the same set of index cards: signs and wonders, forget repentance and faith, God wants to forgive you no matter what, God wants to move, etc.

Oh, and the “Holy Spirit” is doing all sorts of things and encouraging all sorts of behaviors contrary to the fruit of the Spirit.

        Thanks again!

  2. I recall the time when you (Holyspirit)was ministering to me with Ezekiel 22:30-31….. And there was the insight given to the identity of ‘putting on airs’. Competing in Christ when the spirit of deception would minister no ‘compete in crime’.And then it’s Ezekiel 22:13-14 talking of the called attention….. And so was one pulled down to their level…?; Ezekiel 22-26-29. What is the spirit of deception saying? What is the Holy ghost saying? Terrill T.C. a.k.a Relic
