DOES THE CONSTITUTION PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS?
WHY NOT?
A few questions after the following article: The Constitution vs The Patriot Act
- 1- Who was president when the Patriot Act was first made law? (Hint: It wasn’t Obama.)
- 2- How many Americans–especially conservatives–cheered the Patriot Act because Bush was president and the Corporate Media portrayed him as a “conservative Christian”–you know, “one of us”?
- 3- How many of those same conservative Americans are unhappy because the US constitution hasn’t protected them from this clearly unconstitutional law? Or others which are similar?
- 4- How many have learned any lessons about trusting in the governments and schemes of man to keep them safe?
- 5- How many will remember those lessons the next time a “crisis” appears
- 6- How many will remember those lessons and NOT ask the government to “do something about it”?
- 7- How many will remember those lessons when everyone in government is “doing something about it”?
A few additional questions since this was first published (End Times Prophecy Headlines: January 30, 2014.)
How many times do “basic fundamental rights” have to be taken away before it sinks in: there are no real protections afforded by that piece of paper called the US Constitution?
All of the above is ESPECIALLY true to those Americans who call themselves “Christians.” How many times does your faith in the devices and plans of man have to be dashed before you place your trust in the One who will never let you down?
How long before you realize there is no political solution to a spiritual problem?
Even more pertinent for the future: how long before you realize that there will come a man who will propose solutions to both political and spiritual problems and who will sound very reasonable–especially to those who don’t know their Bible?

What is the Patriot Act?
The USA PATRIOT Act is an Act of Congress that was signed into law by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001. The title of the act is a ten-letter backronym (USA PATRIOT) that stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001.
On May 26, 2011, President Barack Obama signed the PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act of 2011, a four-year extension of three key provisions in the USA PATRIOT Act:roving wiretaps, searches of business records (the “library records provision“), and conducting surveillance of “lone wolves”—individuals suspected of terrorist-related activities not linked to terrorist groups.
