SEPARATE FROM THE WORLD: One business in America is running at full production: the business of turning vice into virtue. The Bible says to “love not the world.” But in America, we call the world “The American Dream” or “Living the good life.” Who are you going to believe: the Bible or Satan? Bible prophecy in today’s news headlines.
FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD = ENEMY OF GOD
TURNING VICE INTO VIRTUE:
GOOD OLD AMERICAN KNOW-HOW
Say what one will about America: there’s one industry which hasn’t seen its manufacturing centers shipped overseas. There’s one industry which is firmly rooted in the Good Old U.S. of A.–and it doesn’t appear to be headed anywhere else.
That would be the original American past time, the one industry that the USA has a lock on: the business of turning vice into virtue.
Proud to be an American, right?
Even though pride is a sin. Pride’s the sin that got Lucifer kicked out of heaven. But Americans take pride in everything from their churches to their football teams to their country. In America, pride is no longer a vice but a virtue.
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
—Isaiah 5:20
The same goes for the love of the world.
The Bible is clear: love not the world.
If you love the world, you are an enemy of God.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
—1 John 2:15
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
—James 4:4
But in America, love of the world is called “the American Dream” or “The American Way” or “Living the Dream.” In America, the airwaves are saturated with men who insist that love of the world is proof that God is blessing you. If you send them money, they will pray that their god pours out his blessings on you too.
Satan has sold America on love of the world. Every advertisement in the media is an appeal to “all that is in the world.”
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
—1 John 2:16
An American who doesn’t love the world is considered peculiar or odd or strange. The American becomes very good at justifying his love for the world–and the world helps out wherever it can!
“You deserve a break today!”
“Better living through chemicals.”
“Treat yourself to the best.”
“Come on. Live a little!”
How many Christians are so in love with the world they do not recognize it?
To the World With Love: Signed, the American Christian
Friendship with the world?
Americans call it “living the good life.”
The Bible calls it “SIN.”
Satan pleads, “Be reasonable! It’s 2014!” and whispers in the Christian’s ear: “How are you going to survive, huh?”
Who is the reader to believe?
Who the reader believes goes a long way to determining whether he is an American first or a Christian first.
Remember: friends with the world = enemy of God.
It’s that simple.
Regardless of how many guys on TV tell you differently.
