This update will mostly include updates which have been published by the world’s media over the last three-four days.
The media has been working overtime over the last three days churning out World War 3 scenarios over Ukraine. Strangely enough, the use of the “World War 3” label as pertains to the Israeli ground offensive in Gaza, has been zero.
In fact, there are so many updates concerning the downed MH-17, Russia and Ukraine and World War III over the last three days, there are more updates in this supplemental report than in many of our usual full-length reports.
What we said on three days ago.
After a mostly quiet six or seven weeks, the downing of Malaysian
Airlines MH-17 by a rocket thrust the violence in Ukraine back onto the front pages.The loss of almost 300 civilian lives pushed the events in Iraq and even the ground offensive in Gaza into the background. The conspiratorially-minded might even suggest that the MH-17 incident might have been a distraction from the Israeli attacks on Gaza. But that is sheer speculation.
As it was, all it took was the downing of a civilian jet airliner and “World War 3” and “World War III” returned to the headlines with a vengeance.
THE CALL: While the world will end up eventually in World War III, the events in the Ukraine this past week will not provoke it.
The violence in Iraq has not gone away, it has merely been shifted lower down the priority list for the Corporate Media. The events in the Middle East and ISIS will soon make a return to the top of the news.
What we said last week: “Ukraine is still bubbling.” And so it is.
Already there are the customary calls for a UN ceasefire in Gaza. But Israel will not stop until its objectives are met. Publicly, they appear to be a sweep through Gaza and a dismantling of the underground tunnels which Hamas has built.
THE GOOD NEWS: Asia and all of the other “hot spots were relatively quiet last week.
