Deception Surrounds the True Believer
One of the unique challenges to living in the end times is dealing with the multiple layers of deception which surround the true believer. Most Christians know that when asked about the end times, Jesus first warned of the deception that would be taking place.
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
—Matthew 24:4
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.“
—Matthew 24:11
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.“
—Matthew 24:24
Three warnings about deception within the space of 20 verses in Matthew 24.
The Church is the Center of Deception
The deception is everywhere and the deception coming from the Church is perhaps the worst. The epicenter of this deception is the American church and those who pretend to be of the church (christian TV, christian networks, christian mass media).
Among the worst deceptions are the many pseudo-gospels being substituted for the genuine biblical gospel. Many times, these other gospels substitute touchy-feely alternatives to the simplicity of the real gospel.
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

IF what your church is preaching mentions nothing of sin and Jesus saving men from their sin, then your church is not preaching the gospel.
IF what your church is preaching mentions nothing of Jesus dying for our sins and rising from the dead, then your church is not preaching the gospel.
NOTE: The many layers of deception concerning the world we live in, Christianity and the end times are ubiquitous. One sure sign of the end times: the darkest and most evil deceptions are emanating from the apostate Church which is practically everywhere in America.
The one-world religion which springs up during the last days does not spontaneously appear. The apostate end times satanic Church arises from what formerly was the Christian Church. It has taken 2000 years, but the enemy has almost totally usurped the Church founded by Jesus Christ. Only a very small remnant remains.
That remnant is VERY small.
“Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.”

Those of the remnant will be those who will be persecuted.
The great majority of those now sitting in churches in America will remain lost and will be the ones hunting down the remnant. Of course, they will be assured that they are performing “God’s work.”
“yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.”
–John 16:2
Of the many stands of deception, the ones which deceive those sitting in American churches are the most pernicious.
These include (but are not limited to):
- Other gospels
- Other Christs
- Deceptive teachings concerning the end times, including adding to or taking away from the Book of Revelation.
- False apostles and prophets
- False teachers
- Wolves in sheep’s clothing and hirelings in the pulpits
- So-called “discernment ministries” which have co-opted bible-based discernment
- Other deceptions which hinder Christians from preparing for what the Bible says is coming upon the earth.
What is a Christian to do?
It is vital for Christians to
- Make their calling and election sure.
- Separate from the world. Once separated, to maintain that separateness.
- Be obedient.
- Read and study their Bible every day.
- Pray regularly every day. Pray specifically for wisdom and to not be deceived.
- Share the gospel with others.
- Watch and take heed.
The last bit of biblical advice from Jesus is specifically addressed to all who believe that they will be sucked into heaven before the end time bad times.
Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Though I totally agree with this post, I’ve not been able to find a post where you present YOUR view of an end-time scenario that involves Daniel, Matthew and Revelation. If you haven’t already, could you please do so. It’s one thing to warn about “deception”, but it’s a whole different matter to express what YOU believe to be TRUTH!
I’m not trying to be confrontational here, but there’s so many videos on Youtube and Blogs that love to call everybody else “deceiver”, but fail to “teach” what they believe the Word of God actually says … and if they do, it’s usually some weird off-the-wall concept not based on anything remotely resembling the Word of God!
So, I’m “hip” to the flood of end-time “deception” within the so-called church (and the world) … but what about the “truth”? Could you do an expansive teaching on the subject of a “Final End-time Scenario” using references to the above-mentioned scriptures. You might also need to add an index of “definition of terms” as there is so much confusion over words like “rapture”, “tribulation”, and “wrath” … you know, the usual fare?

Well, I’m not sure why my view would be important. When I am asked what books I recommend, I recommend the Bible only. My views are either completely in line with God’s Word or they are completely immaterial and deceiving.
IF someone were really interested in my views on the end times, there are over 700 articles here written or co-written over the last 17 months. While not every article is on the end times, my views are pretty clear on almost every aspect I’ve studied.
Again, I’m not sure why it is so important to you to know what I believe is true (other than the Bible is truth). Again, a complete compendium is available to anyone with the time and effort to read what I’ve written.
Really? The videos and blogs I’m familiar with are usually not shy about declaring their doctrines upfront. I’d be interested in some of the videos calling others deceivers without offering an alternative. I know I offer the results of my studies at every opportunity. I will heartily agree that off-the-wall doctrines predominate, not only on YouTube, but in every aspect of the “Christian” media.
Again, a lot of this is available by perusing the archives.
Everyone wants a chart. Everyone likes to know what’s going to happen. I agree 100% with what Mike Boldea recently wrote in this regard.
I couldn’t agree more. Those in the Church have little use for what God’s Word clearly says is coming. They want to hear what Hal Lindsay says, or what Tim LaHaye says, or what John MacArthur says, or what any other person who is pumping out deception is saying. They want to have their ears tickled. The church-goers want their flesh pleased.
1. The Bible is the only book you need.
2. Everything a man says can be–and usually is wrong. Including this man writing this.
3. Everything you know is most probably a lie except the Bible.
4. Separate from the world.
5. Make your calling and election sure.
6. Jesus warned of deception–a lot. I can do no more.
7. Prepare for what’s coming. Does it matter the events or the order? (There are events which will happen. They do not happen as most have been led to believe. They happen as the Bible clearly lays them out. I will most probably write a series in the future about some of these [3 or 4 of the articles are in various stages of completion.] But how many will listen?) There are two articles already in the archives about the temple deception. There’s another one about the super end times villain who’s been labeled by the Christian mass media as “The Antichrist.”

Thanks for your reply. It’s pretty well what I expected … and it’s totally acceptable to me! (i.e. I agree)
However, to maybe clarify or emphasize, it’s your point #7 that I was most directly referring to.
Why is it important or why does it matter:
It’s called solid Biblical teaching (not opinion… which, you’re right, I’m not interested in) to reach those with “itching ears” … for all the reasons you suggest, but particularly “preparation”!

Aaaah … there’s the rub! That statement implies you are personally “clear” on what the Bible declares concerning end-time events, but you haven’t provided a place to support that statement … and it’s almost impossible for anybody to peruse 700+ articles to find out what that “clarity” is.
I’m glad to hear you’ve got 3 or 4 articles coming on the subject … and, by the way, it doesn’t matter “who will hear”! God instructed His prophet to preach His message “whether they will hear or whether they will forbear”!
I hope you hear some encouragement in this comment .. written communication is flawed at best!

PS: One blatant example of calling out “deceivers” but only alluding to scriptural truth is the following YouTube Channel. It continually refers to “deceivers” (both in and out of the church), but asks 10 times more questions than it answers.

PSS: Having reviewed the above video, it’s not the best example of asking questions without answering them, but they have scores of others. In the end, if one pays close attention to their other videos, the “True Gospel” that this website refers to is one that instructs the “true” followers of Christ that they must worship God on Saturday instead of Sunday! In other words, the entire set of videos is designed to be the video version of the Seventh Day Adventist Prophecy Seminars. Any church, pastor or believer who does not “keep the Sabbath” is either a “deceiver” or “deceived”!
So much for all their scriptural “references” concerning preparing for the Last Days!
