“Because strait [narrow] is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Regardless of what the wolves in the pulpits declare, the path to eternal life is an uncrowded one with few finding it.
The path to eternal life is uncrowded because the path to eternal life is challenging.
IF one is concerned with what the world is thinking, then one won’t find the strait gate.
IF one is concerned with his station in life, then one will miss the narrow way.
ALL of those who are caught up in what this present life has to offer will find that what this present life has to offer are distractions and deceptive counterfeits. Don’t be fooled into accepting the misery of this present life instead of the joy of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.
All this present life really offers is death and eternal woe.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
—Romans 6:23
The Parable of the Sower
The way to eternal life is challenging because the world doesn’t let go of the lost easily. Some fall victim to deceivers, imposters and evil men. Some fall victim to the cares of this present life. Others are scared off the narrow path by the thought of physical persecution.
“And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
“Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
“When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
“But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
“He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

Don’t be deceived: this present life is fleeting and is over before one knows it.
Don’t trade the abundance of eternal life for a pittance of a few years in this decaying and lost world.
Jesus Christ is the door to eternal life.
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

The ONLY door.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
—John 14:6
The path to eternal life is narrow and challenging. One huge reason it is so challenging is because those who would walk the narrow path must forsake this present life in preparation for the next.
Many will not forsake their shiny stuff and their trinkets and their temporary creature comforts.
But forsaking all is a requirement.
“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
—Luke 14:33
Was Jesus exaggerating?
But though walking the narrow path is a challenge, it’s a challenge that the Bible declares is worth it.
“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
—1 Corinthians 2:9
Isn’t it time you quit trusting the world and started trusting the only One who can save: Jesus Christ?
Have you worked out your salvation with fear and trembling?
Is your calling and election sure?
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
—Romans 1:16
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
