Throughout its short 230+ years existence, the country known as the United States of America has specialized in turning vice into virtue. Exhibit A?
Americans teaching that pride is a much-desired quality.
“American Pride”: it’s on the airwaves; it’s taught in the schools; it’s preached from the pulpits.
In fact, this writer once heard a woman stand up in a church and declare, not that she was proud of her church group, but that she was “so stinkin’ proud!”
It was a very appropriate message for an end times apostate church.
The Bible condemns pride. “American pride” DOES NOT get a special pass from God.
What does one suppose will happen to the nation who has taught “pride” as a virtue (instead of a sin)?
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
—Proverbs 16:18
What does one suppose will happen to the people of that nation who have been taught that pride is a virtue instead of a sin?
“Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.”
—Proverbs 16:5
(Incidentally, Proverbs 16:5 is the only comment the Bible makes about the pagan tradition much beloved by the modern American churches of joining hands in a circle and praying.)
Proud to be an American!
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
—James 4:6
But what about the many who inhabit the churches in the World’s Most Christian Nation™?
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,”
—2 Timothy 3:1-2
Sound like anyone the reader knows?<
Speaking of last days:
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,”
—2 Peter 3:3
Who is a scoffer?
“Scoffer” is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride.”
—Proverbs 21:24
Again, sound like anyone the reader might know?
America has become the expert at turning sin into desirable quality. Nowhere is this more evident in American attitudes toward pride. Particularly the attitude of those who sit in the pews of American churches.
“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”
—Ezekiel 16:49
Does any of this sound familiar?
THE GOSPEL
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
-–1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – (h/t:B)
Jeb Bush’s compassionate conservatism is a loser – Jeb’s brother, George W. Bush, also was a big fan of “compassionate conservatism.” However, the the rich and celebrated were only ones receiving any compassion. Everyone else got the ghoulish grin of Evil Dick Cheney.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
-–1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – (h/t:B)
Yesterday, the…general of the “Food Babe Army” launched an assault on General Mills and Kellogg’s over a preservative called Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT). The chemical keeps cereals like Rice Krispies fresh for longer on the shelf, but has been banned in many parts of the world for having wreaked havoc during animal testing.
THE WORLD CLAIMS ITS OWN: Love not the things of this world.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
—1 John 2:15
The world offers its payment in the world’s currency: pleasure, fame, fortune, power; sometimes, all of the above.
But the world demands much in return: for starters, one’s soul.
“Drugs worked for me for years and now they’re turning against me, now I’m walking through hell”.
–Layne Staley, vocalist for grunge/metal band Alice in Chains in 1996 Rolling Stone interview. Staley became a recluse circa 1996 and was found dead in 2002 in his home.
The Bible tells us that man can “enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.”
But generations of those who disdain the Bible and who openly rebel against God and His Anointed, Jesus Christ have tested God’s Word and attempted to prove it wrong.
“I know I’m near death, I did crack and heroin for years. I never wanted to end my life this way.”
–Layne Staley, interview a few months before his death
Sadly, despite money, fame and earthly pleasures, Layne Staley became a cautionary tale.
Staley’s name was added to those who have proved the truth of the Word of the Living God.
“As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.”
—Proverbs 11:19
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
—1 John 2:16
In October 1937, the president of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo, devised a simple way to identify the Haitian immigrants living along the border of his country. Dominican soldiers would hold up a sprig of parsley—perejil in Spanish—and ask people to identify it. Those who spoke Spanish would pronounce the word’s central “r” with that language’s characteristic trill; the Haitians, on the other hand, would bury the “r” sound in the throaty way of the French. To be on the receiving end of the parsley test would be to seal, either way, one’s fate: The Spanish-speaking Dominicans were left to live, and the Haitians were slaughtered. It was a state-sponsored genocide that would be remembered, in one of history’s greatest understatements, as the Parsley Massacre.
“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do.
“Things are never quite what they seem. Events are never close to the ways that the media and history portray them.”
Anti-vaxxers and the death of civic duty – “Civic duty” is the language the mystery of iniquity uses to appeal to the suckers. Can “the death of civic duty” mean that the great unwashed are wising up?!?
Autonomous killing machines = avoiding responsibility for killing/murder
The reader is being told that there exists something that will kill him and that something will not bear any responsibility for the spilled blood that the Bible declares must be atoned for. That is a fable.
“So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.”
—Numbers 35:33
The states that will pick the president: the sunbelt – The 2016 president has already been chosen. Everything that happens until November 2016 is just so much political theater for those who still believe in fables.
A Life On The Line – The story of super-gambler Billy Walters. But it is a cunningly devised fable to cover the real workings of the high-rolling gambling industry. Such stories are necessary to ensure that the money from the masses continues to flow.
For four decades, other gamblers have tried to be Billy Walters while investigators have tried to bring him down. And for four decades, the world’s most successful sports bettor has outrun them all.
Meditation slows brain aging – Expect the health benefits of occult rituals to continue to receive sustained and wide press coverage. The connection between “natural health” and the occult is in plain sight on many natural food/remedy websites. But amid an explosion of occultism in the media, culture and churches, this is just one more piece that slips through the cracks.
