Deception: What to Do and What Not to Do

In a land saturated with sin, soaked in lies and dripping with spiritual deception, some wonder: “Is there anything one can do to fight through the blanket of ubiquitous deceptions?”

The answer involves a bit of “good news, bad news.”

The good news is there IS something Americans can do to fight the deceptions.

The bad news is the overwhelming majority of Americans will reject the good news and continue on in their unseen, unknowing slavery convinced they are free as a bird. This assessment includes the millions of Americans who regularly check into the centers of spiritual deception known as the churches.

The simple truth is: IF not being deceived is one’s HIGHEST PRIORITY, one will not be deceived.

BUT, in America (though many declare they do not want to be deceived; though many declare they want to know the truth), there are other considerations; other things more important than the truth. Therefore, most Americans are deceived–and they want it that way.

“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so:”
–Jeremiah 5:31

“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:”
–Isaiah 30:9-10

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
–2 Timothy 4:3-4

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”

DECEPTION: What to do?

So what can be done to avoid the deceit?

Readers may:

Make the truth the highest priority in one’s life: Higher than material comfort, higher than emotional comfort; higher than friendships; higher than social relationships; higher than pleasing the flesh; and most especially, higher than the accolades or praise of others.
Make their calling and election sure.
Separate from the world. Once separated, to maintain that separateness.
Be obedient to God’s Word.
Read and study their Bible (God’s Word) every day.
Pray regularly every day. Pray specifically for wisdom and to not be deceived.
Share the gospel with others.
Watch and take heed.

However, most will reject the above suggestions.

They will continue to place worldly sources (such as history, science and/or medicine or what they may have read in a book or a magazine) ahead of God’s Word. They will continue to place their trust in their churches and the smiling wolves who lead them to destruction. They will continue to place their faith in those with the worldly credentials. They will continue to place their faith in themselves.

And they will continue to be deceived–all the while whining that “No one tells the truth anymore. It’s getting so you can’t believe ANYTHING!”

DECEPTION: What NOT to do

So many believe that deception is a matter of communication and/or information. It is not.

It is a spiritual matter.

The Nature of Spiritual Deception

Americans continue to treat deception as if it is a matter of good/bad information.

“IF ONLY I could just talk to him/her, I could change their mind.”

Who is the more deceived: the person this statement refers to–or the person making this statement?

Some think deception is a matter of poor communication. Still others believe deception to be a lack of logic or reasoning. It is none of these. Deception is a spiritual condition.

Deception can be avoided.

Unfortunately, in the times in which we live, in a country known as the United States of America: many fear obedience to God’s Word more than they fear deception.

Which has led us to our current state of affairs.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.“

Modern-day “revivals” feature lots of singing, lots of emotion and very little–if any–salvation (as demonstrated by fruits of repentance).

The promoters of these apostate side shows are big on claims, small on results.

The motto of the modern revival

“Come expecting!”

is the opposite of 2 Corinthians 5:7

“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”

Sight-walkers expect to have their flesh pleased and their ears tickled. And the modern “revival” does all of that and more.

These made-for-apostates events which the churches call “revivals” are no such things. They exist for several reasons:

They create a payday for those involved.
They provide a false salvation “experience.”
They provide a platform for the many deceiving spirits who masquerade as the Holy Spirit.
They substitute man-created rituals (altar calls, pledge cards, sinner’s prayers) for the gospel.
They contribute to the lost experiencing another gospel, another Jesus.
They perpetuate much pagan ungodliness, calling it Christianity.
They further many deceptions necessary for the dragon to pull off his end times evil.

When the true cost of the false “revivals” becomes known–and one day, it will be–the perpetrators of these carnival shows for Satan will be called to account before Almighty God.

Arizona lawmaker: Church attendance should be mandatory – The apostate churches have no greater friend than the ungodly, grandstanding politician.

And vice versa.

ONCE UPON A TIME: Before the new birth... — **ONCE UPON A TIME:** Before the new birth…

DATES WHICH USED TO MEAN SOMETHING

Commemorations, celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, milestones, memorials: most humans organize their lives around a variety of dates which signify important points in their lives.

When a person is born again, he becomes a new creature.

A completely new creature.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”–2 Corinthians 5:17

This becoming a new creature is something quite real. The things of this world fade in importance as this world’s place in the believer’s scheme of things becomes clear: this world is only a probationary period; a time to determine where a person will spend eternity.

Your Life is Not a Vapor: Devil’s Greatest Trick

As the things of this world fade in importance, so do the dates one previously considered important while he was in the world.

One day in particular which no longer should have much significance is the birthday. The Bible mentions two birthdays: Herod (at which it was decided to behead John the Baptist) and Pharaoh.

Birthdays are VERY important to those who are of the world. Birthdays are a day of celebration for those who have been born once.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
—John 3:3

Birthdays are still very important in the apostate churches. And when it is pointed out that the Bible has nothing good to say about birthdays, those in the churches are quick to respond. Which makes sense: a birthday is no great thing to one who have been born again.

Birthdays form the basis for horoscopes (strictly forbidden to believers). Once more: Birthdays mark the natural birth, which is of no consequence once a person has been born again. The world (not the Bible) places great emphasis on one’s natural birthday.

Time passes and occasionally the true Christian is reminded of another date (which was marked and celebrated once upon a time) which has passed without notice. Sometimes, that date unnoticed is one’s birthday.

And one suspects that’s one more way to tell the wheat from the tares.

“And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”

Attacking Genesis: The New Prophets of Science Fiction Eschatology

The article is full of the confusing of demons with fallen angels (there is nowhere in the Bible which states that demons are fallen angels; this is rank speculation which for some reason always seems to lead to the same mistakes–which lead to the construction of a completely different end times than the Bible version.)

In fact, we can know that demons and fallen angels are not the same entities because demons are going about doing evil while the Bible assures us that fallen angels are “in everlasting chains” until judgment day.

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;”
–2 Peter 2:4

“And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
–Jude 1:6

However, this hasn’t stopped the Sci-Fi guys from spinning lurid non-Biblical fables about fallen angels and earth women, nephelim, giants, angel-human hybrids and other tales from the mystery of iniquity.

END TIMES ALIEN/UFO/ET DECEPTION

Now, one suspects there will be a UFO/ET/alien deception. Satan and his minions have labored too long and spent too many resources for there not to be. Is it part of the Bible?

No–unless one includes the many Bible verses warning of end times deception.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
—Matthew 24:4

“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”
—Mark 13:22

But it will all be part of the end times satanic deception of the dragon. To this end, the minions of the dragon have ceaselessly labored to construct a new eschatology to contradict God’s Word.

The Myth of the Great Government UFO Cover-up

New World Order Strategy: Aliens Attack, the World Unites! – This is based on various public statements of world leaders. However, one should keep in mind that world leaders are members of the mystery of iniquity and their statements are full of lies and deception.

There will be other reasons for the world to unite (as the Bible says it will do) other than an “alien invasion.”

There could be aliens/ET/UFOs used in the end times deception as a straight-up deception; i.e., the Science-Fiction Church guys love to prattle on about a “coming Alien Messiah.”

Or, the alien deception could be part of a planned distraction/deception which is meant to be seen through while a deeper deception is being prepared.

The dragon is a tricky fellow.

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

The devil [Satan], called “the god of this world“, is constantly offering the coin of this present world in exchange for man’s allegiance. Power, glory, fame, riches, pleasure: the devil will offer it all if need be, in order to snag the souls of the unwary.

A PRINCE AND A GOD

Satan, who fancies himself “the god of this world“, who the Bible calls ‘the prince of this world’, is a thief, a liar and a murderer.

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

UPDATE: Satan is NOT the God of this World

RESISTING SATAN THE DRAGON

Satan is a powerful enemy but true believers are more than equipped by God and His Son Jesus Christ to resist the dragon and his temptations.

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
—James 4:7

One of the enemy’s greatest lies is that one can be a believer while simultaneously being immersed in the world. Another lie is that one can be a true believer and look and act like the world (except for paying lip service to Jesus and God). Still another lie: if one attends church regularly, one is right with God.

In this way, the devil tricks people who inhabit the churches into believing that they are saved while they live the lifestyle of the lost.

Satan Has Counterfeited the Christian Church

To this end, Satan employs wolves in the pulpits, as well as an army of tares in the pews. The Bible declares that Satan is a powerful foe and has allies among men, as well as spiritual allies we cannot see. In addition, Satan is assisted by the flesh of men and by the world system, which he controls.

Believers are not to engage in the faux spiritual warfare as taught in the apostate churches. Believers are to put on the whole armor of God and stand against the devil.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
—Ephesians 6:11

Railing against the Devil: What does the Bible Say?

Men, on their own, are no match for Satan.

However, a man who has the Spirit of Our Lord Jesus Christ within him, is more than a match for anything Satan and his minions can offer.

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
—Romans 8:37

“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
—1 John 4:4

Satan unsuccessfully tempted Jesus. The temptations of the devil will ultimately prove to be failures to the believer who is living his life in the power of Jesus Christ.

“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
—Philippians 4:13

This is the single most deadly prophetic heresy in many years. It is based on something real, and on biblical Jewish feast days. But this teaching now promoted by John Hagee is profoundly heretical and violates the very words of Jesus Christ.

There seems to be a bit of historical revision going on here. This writer knows of one group who celebrated the “first blood moon” last fall with a bonfire (as noted in these parts on more than one occasion.) Also, there were articles trumpeting the first blood moon in autumn 2014.

Yet, the author of the linked piece claims the blood moons don’t start until April 15.
