“And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”
—2 Thessalonians 2:8-9
The Bible is perfectly clear about miracles, signs and wonders during the end times: Satan and his crew are the ones working miracles. The sight-walkers in the apostate churches are deceived by the miracles–because they walk by sight, not by faith.
And because they ignore the clear warnings of God’s Word.
As to who is doing miracles in the end times, it’s hard to get much clearer than Matthew 24:24.
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
This same thought is echoed in Mark 13:22.
“For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”
Jesus even warned that these signs and wonders would be a way believers could know His Second Coming was near.
“So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.”
—Matthew 24:33
John mentions satanic wonders in the end times in Revelation 13.
“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do”
—Revelation 13:11,13-14
Once more John mentions the deceiving miracles done by the forces of the dragon [Satan] when recounting the judgment of the false prophet in Revelation 19.
“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
—Revelation 19:20
Demonic power to work miracles also plays its part in deceiving the kings of the earth to send troops to battle against Jesus Christ when He returns. Apparently, men are so used to seeing satanic “miracles,” they are totally deceived.
Think about it: How deceived must men be to think they can fight (let alone triumph) over God?
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”
—Revelation 16:13-14
With all of these warnings about end times signs and lying wonders and demonic/satanic miracles leading to mankind’s total deception, one would think that the churches would be sounding the alarm about signs and wonders.
But the opposite is occurring. The pretenders in the pews and the wolves in the pulpits spin fairy tale after fairy tale about great signs and wonders amid a great end times revival (about which the Bible is silent).
Raising the dead, miraculous healings and other cunningly-devised fables fill the churches every week in some locales. And when it’s pointed out what God’s Word declares about end times signs, wonders and miracles?
The tares have a ready answer.
“Don’t you think God can do miracles?”
God can do anything–but God will not do anything contrary to His Word. The question is just a sly way of asking “Hath God said?”
The reader should take heed.
Beware miracles, signs and lying wonders.
