Pretty words.
Very pretty words to shore up the popular indoctrination of the idea of America as a”melting pot.” As the Soviet Union would do later, there was much chatter of a “new man”: the American new man.
One only has to ask oneself: Who is it who has always fostered the separateness of immigrants among the American people?
It has been the government, the media, the culture, the courts, education, politicians, business, entertainment: in short, the entire elite command structure of the country.
Which, as coincidence would have it, included Theodore Roosevelt back in 1907.
SPEAK WITH A FORKED TONGUE: (idiomatic) To speak deceptively; to be duplicitous or untruthful.
