End Times Prophecy: On the Particulars and Details of Bible Prophecy

LOOKING FOR THE PARTICULARS OF END TIMES PROPHECY
LOOKING FOR THE PARTICULARS OF END TIMES PROPHECY

From time to time, the question is asked “Why doesn’t ETPR feature more articles on prophecy?”

(As events would have it, that very question was asked again today.)

The question, after more conversation, is usually clarified to mean “Why doesn’t ETPR feature more articles providing more DETAILS about prophecy.”

The short answer is that we do feature a LOT of articles about the particulars of end times prophecy.

Because Jesus clearly warned of deception in Matthew 24 (3 times in 24 verses!), that subject figures heavily among the topics receiving our attention. We also feature articles having to do with various particulars of preparing (spiritually) for the end times. Because the apostate Church is such an important part of the end times, ETPR also covers the utter apostasy of the churches.

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
Matthew 24:4

But, after more conversation/correspondence, what the questioner usually wants is more articles of the “This-is-what-happens-when” variety.  There are literally hundreds of websites which feature such information (and dozens which also include “prophetic words” from various people associated with a website).  Many have charts of when such-and-such will take place.  Many have timelines for this-and-that.

A great many regularly discuss the latest topic sweeping the apostate churches; i.e., the Four Blood Moons.

Four Blood Moons: American Church Comfortable with Witchcraft

As was mentioned, deception runs rampant–and nowhere is the deception deeper than in the pages of the Modern American Prophecy Industry or among the pews of the American churches.

End Times Deception: The Modern American Prophecy Industry

And one has to admit: the tales spun by the apostates and the prophecy-mongers are mostly entertaining and dramatic (if not totally unbiblical). 7-year tribulations, UFOs and ETs, scary antichrists, giants and nephilim, rebuilt Jewish temples, the paranormal, the red heifer re-discovered, the unexplained and the mysterious, robots, pre-tribulation raptures, half-human hybrids, and the return of the fallen angels make great Hollywood movies and mass marketed pseudo-Christian books.

But they make rotten eschatology.

Attacking Genesis: The New Prophets of Science Fiction Eschatology

But it is useless to discuss the details of the end times with someone who is deceived.  A deceived person is able to dismiss or ignore all Scripture relating to the end times EXCEPT what deceivers have custom-twisted to fit their schemes.  The ability to ignore or dismiss Scripture is one sign that the person is not a Christian, but a tare.

“Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Matthew 13:30

So, it would seem that the focus should be on deception, how to recognize it and how to counter it.

God has a way of using the Bible itself to supply all of the right details IF a person is free of deception–especially self-deception. Which is why, from time-to-time, we do feature an article which speaks to the details.

But God also has a way of blinding the minds of those who repeatedly refuse the light of the gospel of His Son, Jesus Christ.

So, for the time being, details are meaningless to a person who has been blinded.

“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
2 Corinthians 4:4

Satan is NOT the God of this World

Altered Perception is Deception by Another Name

All that having been said, there are articles in various stages of completion which address some of the topics previously mentioned (pre-tribulation rapture, 7-year tribulation, a 7-year “peace treaty” by “the Antichrist,” etc.) The error in the details of popular teachings was always something we intended to address from the very beginning of ETPR.

End Times Prophecy Report will also continue offering articles on end times spiritual preparation.

Because we will be held accountable by God for whatever we write, we always study to show ourselves approved before publishing an article.

So readers would be advised to check back frequently.

Life is Temporary: End Times Survival

LIFE IS FLEETING and MOMENTARY: Life is a vapor.
LIFE IS FLEETING and MOMENTARY: Life is a vapor.

HOW QUICKLY THIS LIFE IS OVER

Every day brings at least one reminder: this life is rushing by.

This life is very, very temporary.

This would seem to be an elementary truth, but the world labors long and hard to make men believe that this world is all that there is.

Therefore, the world tempts men to concentrate on this life.  That is one of the big deceptions of the world.

Focusing on this life will always bring disappointments.

THIS LIFE IS A VAPOR

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
James 4:14

Every day that passes sheds new light on the truth that there is nothing permanent about this present world.

Life is but a vapor.

Nothing more.

“As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.”
Psalm 103:15

This life is momentary. This life is fleeting. This life is but a probationary period to see where one will spend eternity. Focusing on this life is a snare.

This world will pass away and everything that is in this world.

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
1 John 2:17

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
2 Peter 3:10

The Bible is clear about the temporary nature of this present life.

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:”
1 Peter 1:24

The first two verse of the 14th chapter of Job describe this life perfectly.

“Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.”
Job 14:1-2

The devil will try his best to get men to focus on this life: the trials, the troubles, the stress.

One of the believer’s greatest strengths is the realization that this life is momentary and temporary. What happens in this life only determines where a person will spend eternity. Once a Christian realizes this simple truth, nothing in this life can defeat the believer.

It’s also a basic truth one can use to prepare for the end times. In fact, it’s vital for end times survival.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – (h/t:B)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
