Life is Temporary: End Times Survival

LIFE IS FLEETING and MOMENTARY: Life is a vapor.
LIFE IS FLEETING and MOMENTARY: Life is a vapor.

HOW QUICKLY THIS LIFE IS OVER

Every day brings at least one reminder: this life is rushing by.

This life is very, very temporary.

This would seem to be an elementary truth, but the world labors long and hard to make men believe that this world is all that there is.

Therefore, the world tempts men to concentrate on this life.  That is one of the big deceptions of the world.

Focusing on this life will always bring disappointments.

THIS LIFE IS A VAPOR

“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
James 4:14

Every day that passes sheds new light on the truth that there is nothing permanent about this present world.

Life is but a vapor.

Nothing more.

“As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.”
Psalm 103:15

This life is momentary. This life is fleeting. This life is but a probationary period to see where one will spend eternity. Focusing on this life is a snare.

This world will pass away and everything that is in this world.

“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
1 John 2:17

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
2 Peter 3:10

The Bible is clear about the temporary nature of this present life.

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:”
1 Peter 1:24

The first two verse of the 14th chapter of Job describe this life perfectly.

“Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.”
Job 14:1-2

The devil will try his best to get men to focus on this life: the trials, the troubles, the stress.

One of the believer’s greatest strengths is the realization that this life is momentary and temporary. What happens in this life only determines where a person will spend eternity. Once a Christian realizes this simple truth, nothing in this life can defeat the believer.

It’s also a basic truth one can use to prepare for the end times. In fact, it’s vital for end times survival.

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 – (h/t:B)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
