Modern Life is Not Too Busy for Jesus Christ

BUSY LIFE: Too many are too busy for Jesus. What's the Bible say?
BUSY LIFE: Too many are too busy for Jesus. What does the Bible say?

BUSY-NESS IS THE BUSINESS OF SATAN

Bills.

Work.

Children.

Friends.

Church.

No doubt about it: Life is a busy affair.

And in the times in which we live, the world labors long and hard to make sure people are more and more concerned with the cares of this world (keeping busy).

“And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
Mark 4:2-4,7,10-12,14-15,18-19 (Entire parable Mark 4:1-23)

Many are the occasions throughout a normal week when this writer talks salvation with various people.  When the subject gets to salvation and false conversions, it’s pointed out that if a person wants to be a Christian, NOTHING can be more important than Jesus Christ.

If it is, then the person is probably a false convert.

“So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
Luke 14:33

However, whenever Luke 14:33 is brought up, almost invariably, the person being witnessed to believes this to be an unreasonable demand.

“Hey!  I have to live!”

Hey! Do you realize all of my responsibilities?  Do you know all the things I have to do?  Do you know how busy I am?”

And indeed, many people never tire of telling others how busy they are.

The world loves this state of busy distraction: it prevents people from focusing on God and their eternal destination.

“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:9-10

The reader may protest: “But I don’t want to be rich, I only want to live my life.”

In America and elsewhere, people are confused about what they NEED to live, as opposed to what they WANT or DESIRE.

“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 6:31-34

“But I NEED a car!  I can’t live without wheels! And my phone? I NEED to stay in touch!”

MANY people who are busy about the things of this world will be disappointed to find that they are enemies of God.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
1 John 2:15

“know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
James 4:4

Anyone who offers encouragement that a Christian can indeed live without the things of this world which keep so many so busy is looked on as peculiar.

Nowhere is the cult of busy-ness more evident than in the apostate churches.  The churches keep members busy throughout the week with canned food drives, various suppers and meal events, pagan prayer circles: anything but the spreading of the gospel.

The world is fond of saying: “Idle hands are the devil’s playground.”

But, for the times in which we live, it might better be said, “Hands busy with the things of this world are hands not bound for glory.”

Usually, after hearing how a person is too busy to stop for eternal salvation; that other things take priority over salvation through Jesus Christ: this writer will remind them that time is running out.

One of the devil’s greatest tricks to make people believe they have all the time in the world.

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”
Isaiah 55:6

Those who are too busy to make Jesus Christ the number one priority in their busy life are destined for disappointment eternally.

“Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Mark 8:38

“And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”
Luke 14:27

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
1 Corinthians 15:1-4

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Global Warming: What does the Bible Say?

GLOBAL WARMING: Is global warming in the Bible?
GLOBAL WARMING: Is global warming in the Bible?

IS GLOBAL WARMING IN THE BIBLE?

It may surprise many people to know that global warming IS in the Bible.

However, the Bible says that there WILL be a very temporary, very short, very intense period of global warming in the near future.

“And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”
Revelation 16:8-9

NOTE: This extreme global warming is a judgment of God, not a product of man.

However, the world is continually seeking to exalt man over God–even as the source for its calamities. (See Nuclear Holocaust: The End of the World According to Satan.)

At one time, this writer found this passage of Revelation (16:8-9)–as well as similar passages–very hard to believe.  After enduring plague upon plague, the Bible states that mankind will NOT repent, but instead blasphemes the name of God.

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.”
Revelation 9:20-21

“And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.”
Revelation 16:21

“And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.”
Revelation 16:10-11

This writer found it hard to believe that men could be so brazen and ignorant.

However, the events of the last 20 years have proven that mankind is indeed, not only willfully ignorant and deceived, but also full of pride and arrogance about its worldly knowledge.  This is nowhere more evident than among those benighted souls who claim to speak for science.

And also among the youth.

CONCLUSION

The Bible says there WILL be a period of intense heat, beyond even the imagination of the most ardent spinner of global warming fantasies. BUT, this intense heat is a judgment of God (one of His last for those who dwell upon the earth), NOT a product of mankind, or because of man’s large carbon footprint.

This intense period of scorching heat will not be a result of greenhouse gasses.

It will be an end times judgment from God.

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”
Revelation 14:6-7

These verses were given by God as warnings to those who lived in the end times.

However, the Bible also declares that in the end times mankind is corrupt and deceived and full of pride and will not heed any warnings.

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
2 Peter 3:3-4

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
Jude 1:18

[Parts of this piece originally appeared in End Times Prophecy Headlines: June 6-7, 2015.]

[NOTE: The Bible declares that God has set the seasons and has promised that they will always occur.

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
Genesis 8:22

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
