THE END TIMES: RELY ON THE WORD OF GOD, NOT ON THE WORDS OF MAN
Scattered around the Internet at hundreds (thousands) of websites are timelines, charts and very tidy, very neat schedules of what is to take place in the end times.
No warning should be necessary that these contraptions are the work of men, not God.
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
Those in the Body of Christ are warned of one of the unmistakeable signs of the end times: false prophets, deceitful workers, false Christs, false teachers..
“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
—2 Peter 2:1
Men of this world are anxious about the end times–and rightly so.
Which is why other men oblige to “fill in the blanks” about what end times events take place when. But these men are not born again; do not have the Holy Spirit; cannot understand the Word of God. Therefore, to consult them about what God’s Word says is useless.
The world will be completely taken by surprise–but not true believers.
“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
True Christians will know when the season is ready to break upon the world.
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.”
Again: true believers do not need the charts or timelines or the fake schedules of men.
They have the Holy Spirit to tell them of the season.
“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.“
—1 Thessalonians 5:1-4
God, as always, is totally in control.
God keeps His own schedule, which no man knows.
Least of all the publishers at counterfeit websites.
Recognizing the words of men for what they are is part of good end times preparation.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
