Summer Solstice Celebrations: Public Paganism A Sign of the End Times

SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATIONS: SIGN OF THE TIMES

The Corporate Media has been abuzz over the past few days with stories detailing various groups celebrating the Summer Solstice in various locales all over the world.

What is the summer solstice?

The summer solstice occurs during a hemisphere’s summer. This is the northern solstice in the northern hemisphere and the southern solstice in the southern hemisphere. Depending on the shift of the calendar, the summer solstice occurs some time between June 20 and June 22 in the northern hemisphere and between December 20 and December 23 each year in the southern hemisphere.

The summer solstice is also known as Midsummer.

Midsummer, also known as St John’s Day, or Litha, is the period of time centered upon the summer solstice, and more specifically the Northern European celebrations that accompany the actual solstice or take place on a day between June 19 and June 25 and the preceding evening.

By a great and random coincidence, the first International Yoga Day is being celebrated on the summer solstice as well.

Increased paganism, witchcraft and sorcery are signs of the end times. IN FACT, the Bible says very clearly that the dragon (Satan) deceives the whole world and that the whole world will worship him.

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”
Revelation 13:4

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:”
Revelation 12:9

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Revelation 13:8

But the greatest deception of the end times will be someone who leads an apostate church which looks very much like Christianity (a lamb)–but can be recognized because it speaks like the dragon (Satan).

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do”
Revelation 13:11,14

So the increasingly-public celebrations of pagan, witches, druids and others hostile to Christianity should not surprise any who believe the truth of God’s Word.

PAGANISM, WITCHCRAFT AND MORE

Professor Ronald Hutton, an expert on paganism at Bristol University, said he believed there were at least 100,000 practising pagans in Britain.

Who exactly is it who celebrates the summer solstice?

Witches.

Pagans.

In short, non-Christians.

Or rather, those who make no pretense of being Christians. Regardless of the label, they are all brand names used by the dragon.

There will be those in the apostate churches who will moan the “passing of Christianity” and the rise of paganism and witchcraft, but the churches lost Christianity long ago.

Today, the centers of occultism and witchcraft are the apostate churches. Which is worse abomination: the witch who openly declares she is a witch?

Or the apostate church-goers who mimics much of what the witch does and calls herself a “Christian”?

Who commits the greater sin: those openly celebrating paganism or those in the apostate churches which do the same things under the pretense of honoring Jesus Christ?

Yes, paganism and witchcraft are on the rise.  But it is a sign of the times and true Christians should rejoice because it’s more evidence (as if any were needed) of the truth of God’s Word.

“Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.”
Revelation 9:21

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

No One can Steal a Believer’s Joy

Agents of CHAOS!

CAN SOMEONE STEAL YOUR JOY? What's the Bible say?
CAN SOMEONE STEAL YOUR JOY? Are you a believer? What’s the Bible say?

STEALING YOUR JOY?

Someone this writer knows often makes the declaration “I’m not going to let anyone steal my joy.” The statement has been made so many times, it’s almost a part of the background noise.

However, as with many things people say, this writer began to wonder “Is it Biblical to talk about someone ‘stealing your joy?'”

What does the Bible say?

1- The Bible contains nothing about anyone (including Satan) having the ability to steal a believer’s joy.

However, Jesus DID tell the twelve that after he was crucified they would feel sorrow and grief. BUT THEN, they would have joy when Jesus saw them again–and NO MAN could take their joy away from them.

“And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”
John 16:22

2- The Bible declares that joy is a fruit of the Spirit.  IF someone has the Spirit of God (meaning they are born again, saved by Jesus Christ), then their life will constantly produce joy.

Among other fruit of the spirit.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23

Can someone steal a believer’s love? Their faith? Their peace?

3- After the Holy Spirit was given to believers, Jesus told the twelve “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

Again, those who have the Holy Spirit indwelling have joy that no man can take.

4- Every time a believer is tested or tried, he is to count it all joy. That trying times do not produce joy indicates many do not have the Spirit.

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”
James 1:2-3

“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

5- How many associate trials and tribulations with rejoicing (joy)? This is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Actually, how a person reacts to being tried for the name of Jesus is a sign of whether the person is a believer or a counterfeit.

One can either complain about getting their joy stolen or one can rejoice.

“And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.”
Acts 5:40-41

IN FACT, believers who pass through trials should “rejoice with joy unspeakable.”

“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”
1 Peter 1:6-8

Persecution, Tribulation, Troubles, Trials: What the Bible says to Christians

6- After Paul was thrown out of Antioch in Pisidia, he and the other disciples were filled with both joy and the Holy Spirit.

Again, instead of Paul believing that his joy had been stolen, he and the others rejoiced.

“But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 13:50-52

7- There is nothing in the Bible to indicate someone can steal a believer’s joy.

Nothing.

However, there are hundreds (thousands?) of “Christian” articles warning church-goers about not letting negative events or people “steal their joy.”

Those who worry about someone or something “stealing their joy” have bigger, more serious things to worry about.

Such as: am I really saved?

Do you have the Holy Spirit?

Then you are a believer.

The Holy Spirit produces joy in your life. Whenever you face trials and tribulations, you should rejoice and count it all joy.

Then pray to God in Jesus’ name that your joy should be full.

THE GOSPEL

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
