END TIMES JUDGMENTS: What are the Judgments of God?

GOD'S JUDGMENTS: Many are expecting God to unleash his judgments on the earth. What are they?
GOD’S JUDGMENTS: Many are expecting God to unleash his judgments on the earth. What are they?

“Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.”
Ezekiel 33:27

Many people believe we are now in the end times. Even more surprisingly, many expect God to send judgment upon the earth. This is quite sobering.

But apparently not so sobering as to cause apostates and the lost to change their lives, repent and come to Jesus.

So, what exactly are God’s judgments?

God’s Word is not silent on the subject.

“For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?”
Ezekiel 14:21

God declares he has four “sore judgments”:

  1. The sword (war)
  2. The famine
  3. The noisome (unpleasant, nasty) beast
  4. The pestilence (disease)

Compare these four judgments found in the Old Testament with the opening of the four seals in Revelation 6 and the beginning of God’s judgments upon the earth.

The second seal is opened and war is unleashed upon the earth.

“And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

The third seal is opened and famine overtakes the planet. It costs a day’s wages to buy enough bread to feed one.

“And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”

When the fourth seal is opened, God unleashes all four of His “sore judgments” at once.

“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

Are these judgments the only ones God has at His disposal.

No.

In Jeremiah 50, the prophet declares that “God has opened his armory” and is unloosening the “weapons of His indignation” against Babylon.

“The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.”

What are some of the weapons of God’s indignation?

  1. The sword (50:26-31, 35-37)
  2. A fire in the cities (50:32) that will devour all
  3. A drought upon her waters (50:38)
  4. Wild beasts of the desert and wild beasts of the islands (50:39)

So God sends judgment in the form of war, famine, pestilence, wild beasts, drought and fire. These judgments are far worse than the usual ones false prophets promote–specially “financial collapse.”

Does God have any other judgments he uses?

Yes.

But those are topics for the very near future.

Many declare that they “love God” or “love Jesus.”  But their lives testify differently. God and Jesus are very important.

On Sunday mornings.

Sometimes.

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.”
Matthew 15:8

It’s not too late to come to Jesus.

“So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the LORD have spoken it.”
Ezekiel 5:17

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
1 Corinthians 1:18-19
