END TIMES FAITHLESSNESS: Faith Not Enough for the Sight-walkers

FAITH: No longer enough.
FAITH: No longer enough.

FAITH: NO LONGER ENOUGH, NO LONGER NEEDED

“Give us miracles and signs and wonders!”

During a recent conversation, a person brought up the notion that “The church needs to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Since this person is continuously looking for “miracles” and “signs and wonders” as “evidence” of the Holy Spirit, it was physical manifestations of supernatural power that served as this man’s “proof” of the Spirit’s power.

When reminded that the greatest miracle God can perform is to save a wretched sinner from eternal torment, he allowed that “Well, yeah…”

BUT what he was really referring to was “The church needs to see physical miracles and signs and wonders.”

“The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.”
Matthew 16:1-4

Needing to see physical proof of the Holy Spirit’s power is the desire of sight-walkers.

“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith No Longer Needed in American Church: The Sight-Walkers

The desire to see displays of supernatural power–ANY supernatural power–is a sign of little or no faith. IF one sees physical signs, then why is faith needed?

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1

“For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”
Romans 8:24

But the end times are the times of the faithless and this is the age of the sight-walkers. The Bible is very clear that men will follow miracles, signs and lying wonders in the end times–instead of the Word of God.

STRONG DELUSION: Strong Delusion is Coming

Therefore, men will follow such supernatural shows of power to their eternal destruction.

“And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;”
Revelation 13:13-14

Nothing corrupts like power and nothing deceives like supernatural power.

The displays of supernatural power will deceive many.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24

And by “many,” it’s meant that supernatural power will deceive the whole world EXCEPT those whose names are written in the book of life of the Lamb.

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Revelation 13:4,8

Is the reader looking for supernatural signs and wonders? Is the reader a member of a church which preaches miracles and supernatural signs and wonders for the end times? Does the reader’s church crave a “move of the Spirit”? Does the reader believe that the Holy Spirit manifests himself primarily through physical signs and miracles?

Then perhaps the reader should re-examine his faith.

The Bible declares that everyone who professes Jesus should make their calling and election sure.

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:18

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
