Days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah, Second Coming: Sudden Destruction

“And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”
—Luke 17:26-27

ONE MOMENT: LIVING LIFE

THE NEXT MOMENT: SUDDEN DESTRUCTION

Eating.

Drinking.

Marrying.

Being given in marriage.

There were plenty of items on everyone’s list: the kids were hungry, the boss was in a bad mood, there were gifts to buy.

It was just “another day” that day the flood came and destroyed them all.

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.”
—Luke 17:28-29

Eating.

Drinking.

Buying.

Selling.

Planting.

Building.

The lost were going about their business living their lives. The wicked were busy too, doing what they did every other day.

It was just “another day” that day that fire and brimstone rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah and their sister cities and destroyed them all.

It was just a day like every other day: they were all busy living their lives.  Some had flowers to plant; some went shopping; some had weddings to attend.

A fear of God was the last thing on people’s minds.

And then suddenly: SUDDEN DESTRUCTION.

They ALL were destroyed.

“Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”
—Luke 17:30

There’s still yet time to repent and turn to God.

“For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
—1 Thessalonians 5:3
