DAY OF THE LORD: Opens with Second Coming of Jesus

DAY OF THE LORD: Is fast approaching.
DAY OF THE LORD: Is fast approaching.

DAY OF THE LORD:

Part Two

The Bible ha much to say about the future day called The Day of the Lord. In Part One, it was determined the day of the Lord is a day of God’s vengeance.

Part One – DAY OF THE LORD: A Day of Vengeance and Destruction

The day of the Lord begins with the Second Coming: the return of Jesus Christ to earth to fulfill his roles as king and judge according to the Scriptures.

Revelation presents the clearest picture of the return of Jesus Christ.

“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Revelation 19:11-16

Though Revelation presents the clearest picture, many other details of the Second Coming are recorded throughout Scripture.

There is no “silent, secret” coming of Jesus.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:”
1 Thessalonians 4:16

“And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
Matthew 24:31

ALL who dwell upon the earth will see Jesus when He returns. It will be a very visible, very noticed event.

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Matthew 24:30

Jesus will first come back to earth on the Mount of Olives.

“Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.”
Zechariah 14:3-4

Jesus departed to heaven from that same Mount of Olives.

“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.”
Acts 1:9-12

Jesus is coming back to the Mount of Olives to first judge, then, to rule.

“Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.”

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.”
Joel 3:12, 14

The valley of Jehoshaphat is between the Mount of Olives and the Temple Mount.

“Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.”
Psalm 98:9

DAY OF THE LORD: God's day of wrath, vengeance and recompense.
DAY OF THE LORD: God’s day of wrath, vengeance and recompense.

All the tribes of the earth” shall howl and mourn because they never believed that Jesus would return. It’s the reason the mystery of iniquity has prospered over the last 2000 years: they have trafficked in sin and unbelief.

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
2 Peter 3:3-4

MOCKERS AND SCOFFERS: Signs of the Times

And on the day of the Lord, all those whose coin has been unbelief, sin and mocking: their bill will finally come due.

The day of the Lord is a day of judgment and that judgment by Jesus will decree destruction for the wicked.

Of course they will howl and mourn.

“Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.”
Isaiah 13:6

“For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”
–Revelation 6:17

“Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.”
Joel 1:15

The day of the Lord is fast approaching.

But as of yet, it is not too late.

“Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.”
Zephaniah 2:2-3

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16

Nothing New Under the Sun: Satan’s Same, Old Lies

SUN-ID-100126238-photoraidz-FDP

“That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 1:9

It really is true that there is nothing new under the sun.

Unfortunately, Ecclesiastes 1:9 is a largely-ignored Bible verse. So, modern man thinks he is the top of the food chain; the “best that’s ever been.”

And because so many have placed their faith in doctored and false “history,” they believe that every “new” discovery is something never before seen.

“That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.”
Ecclesiastes 1:9

Satan is not a very original thinker because he doesn’t have to be: man continues to fall for the same, old lies.

The Two Lies of the Serpent: Still Being Told Today

That includes the same old lying signs and wonders.

When the future events which the Bible declares must take place occur, they will be the same ones which have already happened before, long ago in the past. Satan’s plan for the future is a refinement of the one he used before to deceive the world.

“There is nothing new under the sun.”

Men would do well to take this one verse from God’s Word to heart.  It would prevent many deceptions which are already here and many which are to come.

But men prefer lies to the truth.

“Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:”
Isaiah 30:10

In the end, man’s choosing to believe lies will be his undoing.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20

There’s Nothing New Under the Sun: The End Times is History Repeating

“There is nothing new under the sun.”

Really.

And if the reader does not believe that, he is already deceived.

It’s just part of the end times landscape of deception.

Courtesy of the mystery of iniquity and it’s leader, the dragon.

Though the hour is late, it is not yet too late.

TRIBULATION: Christians Experience Tribulation Every Day

TRIBULATION: IF you are a Christian, you are already in tribulation.

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
Acts 14:22

TRIBULATION

Of all of the fables foisted on the public by the antichrist Left Behind series, the two worst have to be the ‘pre-tribulation rapture‘ and the ‘seven-year tribulation period.’

RAPTURE: The Bible is Clear on the Rapture

The Bible is quite clear that a future period of 3 1/2 years (not seven) will be full of tribulation.

In the original Greek, tribulation means “pressure” or “constriction” or the “feeling of no escape.” The Christian should be very aware of tribulation.

Because those who are Christians are acutely aware of those constricted, “no-escape” feelings every day.

Acts 14:22 tells us that Christians will enter the kingdom of God “through much tribulation.”

“Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
Acts 14:22

Do you believe yourself to be a Christian?

Are you going through “much tribulation?

IF the answer is “no” or “not really,” perhaps you ought to make your calling and election sure?

The true Christian is not looking ahead anxiously to any imaginary 7-year period known as “The Tribulation.”

The true Christian experiences tribulation every single day right now.

It comes from being locked in an alien world of sin, the celebration of sin and the choice between  “compromise with the world or be hated.”

And the only way out of this situation is death.  Either the physical death of the believer OR the spiritual death which would come with compromise with the enemies of God and His Anointed, Jesus Christ.

So, tribulation is there every day and there’s zero chance of compromise for the believer.

However, believers know that in the midst of tribulation, the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ is both a sanctuary and a welcome relief.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

[NOTE: This does not mean that the workers of iniquity will not counterfeit a future 7-year period of woe.  On the contrary, they most likely will. It’s also likely the man of sin will be introduced at the end of this period.

After all, the mystery of iniquity hasn’t spent time, money and resources over the last 180 years deceiving the masses on this point.  BUT, the real three-and-a-half-year period of tribulation noted in God’s Word will still be awaiting at the end of of their seven years.]

THE GOSPEL

RAPTURE: The Bible is Clear on the Rapture

RAPTURE: The Bible is clear. There is a rapture and it does occur when Jesus returns.
RAPTURE: The Bible is clear. There is a rapture and it does occur when Jesus returns.

A MODERN FABLE

Of all of the fables foisted on the public by the antichrist Left Behind series, the two worst have to be the ‘pre-tribulation rapture‘ and the ‘seven-year tribulation period.’

The Bible is quite clear that a future period of 3 1/2 years (not seven) will be full of tribulation.

TRIBULATION: Christians Experience Tribulation Every Day

TRIBULATION: What is Tribulation?

It is equally as clear as to when the catching away (rapture) takes place.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

All those confused Americans (and it is mainly Americans who believe this particular fable) have to do to determine the timing of the rapture is to find in the Bible when the dead in Christ are raised.

(HINT: Jesus tells us FOUR TIMES in John 6.)

The dead are raised on the “last day” when Jesus returns.

To believe in a pre-tribulation rapture requires a belief that Jesus will return more than once. The deceived get around this with semantics (that words do not mean what they clearly mean). But God’s Word is very clear: Jesus returns once more at which time the dead in Christ shall rise, believers remaining alive shall be raptured and God’s enemies will mourn at the sight of Jesus Christ returning.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
Matthew 24:29-30

The pre-tribulation rapture story is gnostic in origin.

ONE BODY: Gnostic Teachings in American Churches Divide the Body of Christ

Gnosticism always attempts to split the body of Christ into two parts. According to the fable, those who are petrified at the idea of laying down their lives for Jesus will be in heaven celebrating–while those overcomers who willingly lose their lives for Jesus are said to be losers who are “left behind.”

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Revelation 12:11

“Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.”
Luke 17:33

Those clinging to the pre-tribulation rapture story spend much time explaining away the many, many Bible verses which contradict their flesh-pleasing myth.

Such as the verses which clearly say where God’s elect are during this time.

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”
Matthew 24:22

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24

All those who believe in the pre-tribulation rapture fable (and there are those who are genuinely deceived, as opposed to those who knowingly spread this deception) are being set up to experience maximum, future fear when their unbiblical escapism doesn’t materialize.

In fact, those believing in a pre-tribulation rapture are being set up to eventually deny that the rapture takes place at all. When they find themselves on earth instead of being sucked up to heaven, many will claim there is no rapture at all. They will be assisted in these claims by the workers of iniquity.

There is a rapture.  It occurs at Jesus’ second coming.  Just as the Bible has always declared.

However, God Word warned of the times in which we now live and what church-goers will choose to believe.

“And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
2 Timothy 4:4

Much more could easily be written on this subject, but the pew-sitter who is deceived on this simple point (which is so easily checked with any Bible) will not likely heed what God’s Word says.

The apostates claim that there is “disagreement among Christians” over the “timing of the rapture.”

There is no disagreement among Christians.  There is promoted disagreement among the counterfeits and tares. God’s Word is plain.

The pre-tribulation rapture is the perfect story for the flesh-pleasing, apostate church-goer of today who prefers Left Behind over God’s Word.

But, it’s still not yet too late.
