Well, not quite sure what part Nixon played. It was somewhat conservative; somewhat liberal (Nixon gets credit for starting the EPA). Like all politicians, it was ALL self-serving.
The complaint among socialists that Sanders is not a socialist has been heard for some time by those who take their socialism seriously.
The fact that Bernie Sanders regularly has to issue statements insisting he is a socialist is not comforting for real socialists. As with all politicians: watch what they do, not what they say.
