BLACK FRIDAY: Opening the Season of Greed in the World’s Most Christian Nation
EVER WONDER WHY IT’S CALLED BLACK FRIDAY?
It’s almost upon us once more.
That day when Americans celebrate all that is base and shallow: Black Friday.
A day when electronic gadgets and other products produced in Third World sweatshops become the objects of madness, mayhem and mania.
It’s a day when greed and coveting are marketed as “FUN!” A day when the Corporate Media exalts those poor, pathetic souls who wait in line for days to save 40 percent on the latest video game.
Black Friday is a day when “the things of this world” are placed front and center and made to seem very, very important.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
—1 John 2:15
Black Friday is the most appropriately-named day in a country which relentlessly worships all things material.
The cover story is that it is called “Black Friday” because there is so much shopping that many merchants are “in the black” for the first time for the whole year.
Anyone with much experience in retail knows that is a lie.
It would be interesting to see just how many of the big national merchants have a fiscal year ending in December; because if they have a fiscal year ending at other times (very common), then the whole cover story for naming Black Friday is blown.
Black Friday is a day which publicly exposes what apostate church-goers value most (many who seemingly LOVE Black Friday and who hatch plans weeks in advance).
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
—1 Timothy 6:10
Over the last decade, Black Friday has morphed into Black Friday/Thursday. Thanksgiving–never as much of a day for giving thanks as it was a day for travel, family, eating and football–is relegated to a few hours and then the focus changes from “giving thanks” to “saving cash.”
A cultural shift has taken place over the last 10-12 years: what little actual emphasis was on “thanksgiving” on Thanksgiving Day has been eclipsed by the spirit of covetousness. Thanksgiving was about giving thanks for maybe a minute or two–during the grace at dinner and a few TV prayers. Otherwise, the focus of the holiday had long ago morphed into food and drink, football games and travel.
“Giving thanks” was an incidental happening. But at least lip service was paid to the concept.
Sadly, even that has ceased in most households across the World’s Most Christian Nation™.
The Curse of Black Friday has, hour-by-hour, slowly edged into Thanksgiving until the actual event is a few hours of traditional Thanksgiving (a big meal with some family and/or friends) with Black Thursday-Friday consuming many hours of planning, researching and list-making.
Now, very clearly, the emphasis is on DEALS! and saving a few bucks on the latest electronic gadget. Somehow, the Black Friday violence over sweaters marked down 40 percent is a more honest reflection of who Americans really are.
—Black Friday: Celebrating the Season of Greed
“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”
—Ephesians 5:5
Black Friday: a perfect day in which many Americans justify the ungodly money-grubbing with “But it’s FUN!”
A perfect day for exposing what Americans value most.
A perfect day for the times in which we live.
“And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
—Luke 12:15
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
ISIS: Is There a Method to ISIS’s Madness? – Particularly interesting because of the photo heading this article. The media has claimed it to be a picture of a watch abandoned outside the cafe which was supposedly shot up by ISIS in Paris.
This photo, however shows a different time on the face than the same picture which ran earlier in many media accounts. Though a Google image search failed to turn up the original photo, it was contained in a YouTube video viewed only this morning.
Perhaps it will still be available to link to?
“The group Anonymous, an international network of computer hackers who attack websites and steal personal information in the name of justice, announced last week that they are going to war with ISIS. As if ISIS didn’t already have its hands full, now they have to change all their passwords!”
–James Corden
“Right now, all the ISIS Facebook accounts are posting messages like “Guys, I think I’ve been hacked. If you got a message from me saying, ‘I love America,’ that wasn’t me. Clearly, I hate America. You guys know me.”
–James Corden
“Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka said that her father loves eating at McDonald’s. It makes sense, considering the “McFlurry” is also what Trump asks for when he goes to the barber.”
–Jimmy Fallon
He’s just now being moved up the food chain by the same Corporate Media which would have Americans believe that Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Ben Carson were ‘front-runners.’
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
THE GOSPEL
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
-—1 Corinthians 1:18-19
“This Thanksgiving I’m feeling a little betrayed because it has just been revealed that the grocery store labels on the turkey mean very little. Fresh, young, natural, meaningless. Apparently fresh turkey just means it’s not fully frozen. Young turkey means they weren’t allowed to die of old age. Natural turkey has the same legal standing as cheez with two Es and a Z.”
–Stephen Colbert
…a trustworthy alarm system baked in, to wake a passenger up in case of emergency or at the end of the preprogrammed safe stretch; more fundamentally, you’d need a biometric system that can tell when you are asleep or awake.
Big New Oil Find In Gulf Of Mexico – The world is awash in energy. The real price of gasoline ought to be around 50 cents a gallon–and that’s with inflation.
Rude Behavior Spreads like a Disease – The Corporate Media and its antichrist religion, Science!, will never run out of reasons why man’s behavior (sin) is not his fault.
“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.
WHY We’re all Mutants Now – ‘Ordinary people with super-powers‘: that’s the idea the Corporate Media has been pushing. Advertising has been pushing it too.
Getting the Politics of Fear Right – This narrative pre-supposes Donald Trump as the 2016 GOP presidential nominee. The Corporate Media is well aware that will not happen. So, this is 100 percent pure narrative.
As is almost all Corporate Media political coverage.
