“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
—1 John 2:15-16
NO PEACE FOR THE WORLDLY
The world hates Jesus.
Indeed, the world (with its basis in sin and carnality, along with its limited mental, emotional and spiritual faculties) does not know and cannot know Jesus.
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”
As such, the world cannot offer Jesus to anyone. Instead, as a relief from the pain which originates from sin, it offers more sin.
Karl Marx derided Christianity (using the code word “religion“) as the “opium of the people.”
Jesse Ventura, a man whose entire public life has been a lie, claimed “Organized religion is a sham and a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers.”
George Bernard Shaw said “Liquor is the chloroform which enables the poor man to endure the painful operation of living.”
Of the three atheists, Shaw was the most honest. At least he was upfront in offering the masses sin for their solace.
Marx and Ventura merely attacked that which works, leaving depraved man to find ineffective, destructive substitutes on his own.
The rich and celebrated spend much of their time trying to drink, drug or distract from the pain of sin.
As this is not possible, many die trying to “kill the pain.”
There IS one cure for the pain of sin. There is one source of true peace.
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
For all of the pain, the world refuses to try what works: Jesus. In fact, the world spends much money, time and resources to convince the lost that Jesus will not work, so why even try?
So having rejected the one true cure for pain, the world instead substitutes more and more sin.
Which leads to more and more pain.
The world’s ‘spiritual’ people offer their own failed, demonic substitutes, many centering around meditation and emptying ones’ self.
Likewise, the world’s churches offer their own lifeless substitutes: other gospels and another Jesus, which have no power and offer no peace.
These are the deceptions of the world.
It’s also a vicious circle.
Which is the goal of Satan, who hates humans and desires to keep them in bondage.
Refusing the truth of Jesus, the world resorts to Plan B.
And so, their pain continues.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Have you had enough of the pain?
Is fear, doubt and anxiety constantly nagging you?
Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.”
