END TIMES DECEPTION: Stubbornness, Idolatry and a Desire for Lies

Stubbornness, idolatry, pride: man's end times deception

“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:”
Isaiah 30:10

Most people exhibit a curiosity about the future.

“What’s going to happen?”

BUT, the great majority of people DO NOT really want to know what God says about the future: they want the doctrines of demons; they prefer to be lied to.

End Times Lies: Tell Me a Story

They would rather be deceived.

In fact, men LOVE to be lied to.

“A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so”
Jeremiah 5:30-31

Talking about the end times with people, one is struck by their sheer obstinacy: they insist they follow the Bible; however, they refuse to believe what God’s Word declares. When faced with a biblical declaration that their behavior is wrong, the great majority of people simply ignore the Bible.

But modern man’s first and foremost defense against the truth is a stubborn clinging to his deception. This willful disobedience; this stubbornness is difficult to understand.

Until one remembers that the end times are a time of widespread idolatry.

“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:”
Revelation 9:20

AND the Bible equates stubbornness with idolatry.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”
1 Samuel 15:23

A DASH OF PRIDE

In the end times, men will turn to idolatry, demons, false prophets, false Messiahs and believe the lies of the dragon as truth. Of course, some men have always done so. But in the end times, it will be widespread.

In the end times, the perverse and deceptive will be the norm.

Men love to be deceived because it allows them to remain comfortable in a wicked world.

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 24:24

But comfort is not the only reason: stubborn man insists on believing lies due to his pride. Those who lie to him pander to his self-image; his pride. Satan will SELDOM lose betting on the pride and arrogance of man.

Pride is certainly a sin of the end times. So too, rebellion and stubbornness are also hallmarks of the end times. And such choices are the same as witchcraft and idolatry.

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.”
1 Samuel 15:23

And there is certainly no end to the idolatry, witchcraft, sorcery, and other iniquity in the end times.

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:”
Revelation 12:9

The Age of Lawlessness is almost upon us: the time of worldwide iniquity is almost here.

Will the reader enjoy the eternal rewards of heaven OR trade it for 42 months of man’s ascendancy on the earth?

Make the choice today: faith over stubbornness; truth over deception.

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
