TREASURES IN HEAVEN ARE ETERNAL; Riches on earth are temporary and fleeting.
“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
—1 Peter 1:4-5
Earlier this past week, a discussion was held between several people about another who was not present. The absent person is a well-liked business acquaintance who had made a series of very bad decisions which had cost him dearly.
One of the points discussed was about how hard the man in question was taking his loss of money.
As stated, the man is well-liked. But the man is clearly a friend of the world. He himself would not argue otherwise.
“know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
—James 4:4
The poor workers of iniquity!
Laboring for the gain of this world, amongst other lost souls and evil men: it’s a vicious game.
And, it’s a game with eternal consequences.
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
—Matthew 6:24
Our poor businessman acquaintance!
Sweating over the riches of this present world; preferring temporary trinkets to eternal riches and glory.
AND, the ‘things of this world’ include more than money. The things of this world include ALL that is in the world: cars, jewelry, electronics, clothes, music and video game collections, gadgets, ANY material things which the reader covets (desires).
“Riches” are more than just money.
“For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”
—Luke 18:25
The poor workers of iniquity!
Toiling for that which is like a vapor of smoke; toiling, not for themselves, but for another who will enjoy the fruits of their toil.
Laboring for the riches of this world, which cannot last, and taking on the cares of this world until their backs are bent double under the strain.
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
—Matthew 6:19-21
Put the riches of this present world in their proper perspective: they are transitory.
Work for the treasure which can be enjoyed for all eternity.
Work to lay up treasure in heaven.
“a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth”
—Luke 12:33
This world cannot provide lasting wealth. This world and the things of this world can only provide a wide road to destruction and eternal poverty.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
—1 John 2:15
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
End Times Prophecy Report HEADLINES

And OPINION
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”
—Matthew 24:4
Welcome to 2016!
To commemorate the first few days of the New Year, over this long weekend we’ll include some jokes of the last 7 years from the late night comics.
This seemed a better choice than to include all of the “Best of” and “Worst of” lists which the Corporate Media churns out the last day or two of each year. Such lists are usually compendia of narratives (stories).
At this point, all we’ll say about the coming year: 2016 should prove to be highly, HIGHLY interesting.
“Yesterday in France, there were no injuries when a passenger train hit a truck full of shampoo. However, some of the passengers are believed to be in critical conditioner.”
–Jimmy Fallon (July 2010)
“In her fight against childhood obesity, first lady Michelle Obama is urging communities to make fresh produce more available to young people, even in liquor stores. If your kid is hanging out at the liquor store, obesity is the least of your problems.”
–Jay Leno (September 2010)
“A new poll found that 1 in 5 Americans believe President Obama is a Muslim. Remember during the campaign, when he was criticized for belonging to Reverend Wright’s church? What happened to that?”
–Jimmy Kimmel (August 2010)
“Donald Trump is running for president. He’s not the kind of guy that would stage something like this for publicity.”
–David Letterman (October 2010)
Hillary Clinton is not a feminist – Oh, I don’t know. A pretty good argument can be made that feminism is just a modern face for the ethos of witchcraft.
“This week in 1861, the first federal income tax was instituted to pay for the Civil War. These days, we don’t worry about that kind of stuff. Our wars are paid for by our grandchildren.”
–Jay Leno (August 2010)
“[US Senate candidate from Delaware] Christine O’Donnell said she dabbled in witchcraft and her opponent, Chris Coons, had no comment. He wanted to comment but he lost his voice, went blind, and came down with boils.”
–Jay Leno (September 2010)
The facility at the Federal Center will be the largest of its kind in the country.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
THE GOSPEL
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
-—1 Corinthians 1:18-19
“Last week, Australian scientists discovered tractor beams and this week, they discovered that bats have regional accents. Is there anything Australian scientists can’t do?”
–Craig Ferguson (September 2010)
“Mayor Michael Bloomberg proposed turning the city’s excess dumpsters into swimming pools. Nothing says summer in New York City like packing a picnic lunch and heading to the dumpster.”
–David Letterman (July 2010)
“A company is marketing a smaller airplane seat called the “sky rider.” It’s part seat and part saddle, and it’s meant for first class. In coach, you have to get on all fours and they tie you to a hitching post.”
–Jay Leno (September 2010)
“Bedbugs were also found in government buildings in Washington D.C. I can’t believe they have to deal with those blood-sucking pests. Poor bedbugs.”
–Craig Ferguson (October 2010)
Investigators have not ruled out that “ritualistic sacrifice” played a role in the death of a 3-year-old discovered in a suitcase with what appeared to be a knife wound to the chest, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.
“A new study says that having a cat makes you 40 percent less likely to die of a heart attack. Not that the cat would care one way or the other.”
–Jay Leno (July 2010)
“IHOP, the International House of Pancakes, is suing a church that calls itself the “International House of Prayer.” To avoid the lawsuit, the church group will change their name to “Kentucky Fried Christians.”
–Jay Leno (September 2010)
In the final hours of 2015, Pope Francis is encouraging humanity to hang on to recollections of good deeds, so that gestures of goodness can be seen triumphing over evil.
“Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
—Psalm 53:3
“Pope Benedict admitted that the Catholic Church didn’t act fast enough against priests accused of sexual abuse. Although it wasn’t that encouraging when he promised to do better “next time.”
–Jimmy Fallon (September 2010)
“How can the reader know when the Corporate Media is lying to him (never mind the fact that the media is Satan’s Mouthpiece and Satan is the father of lies)? One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article. When the reader sees “Why?” or “How?” in the headline–occasionally “What” is used–that which follows will be a fairy tale, a narrative, a bedtime story spun by the media for the benefit of the media’s master. “Why” usually denotes an on-going narrative; “How” signifies a story line which explains past events. Not all narratives begin with “How” or “Why.” However, the most in-your-face, over-the-top ones usually do. ALL political “news” is narrative.
“As the World Turns” has been on for 54 years. Some of the cast members are really old. Although, on CBS, once you reach 95, you get to host “60 Minutes.”
–Craig Ferguson (July 2010)
