“Don’t be fooled. You can’t outsmart God.”
—Galatians 6:7
THE DAY OF THE LORD
Sales of gold, freeze-dried (long-storage) food and guns have been setting sales records over the past few years.
Why are survivalism and prepping such big topics?
There’s something coming: men can feel it. They might not know what the something that is coming is, but many are looking nervously over their shoulders.
There are many who are still deceived that they can physically prepare for what’s soon to come upon the earth.
They cannot physically prepare.
Though many have claimed they do not believe the Bible, it’s God’s Word which informs what it is that is coming: the Day of the Lord, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
The day of “God’s vengeance.”
“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.”
–Isaiah 13:9
“For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.”
–Jeremiah 46:10
Men have invested in underground bunkers (which is one section of the real estate market which has been booming). Will this work for what’s coming in the end times?
“And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.”
–Isiah 2:17,19

Men have also invested in guns, gold and groceries. Some have buried cash; some have buried gold and silver.
Will these strategies enable one to survive the wrath of God?
“Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.”
–Zephaniah 1:18
The Bible has been warning men about the day of the Lord for centuries. It is for this reason that most men do not believe it will take place.
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
–2 Peter 2:3-4
There are some who call themselves “Christian preppers.”
There is no such thing: either one trusts oneself or one trusts in God. Those who trust in themselves are usually the ones who feel the most uneasy.
These are the ones who never finish compiling lists of what to store away. They never lose the torment that they’ve forgotten something more important than what they already have stored.
So, while many can feel an uneasiness, they will be completely taken by surprise when the day of the Lord comes upon the earth.
“For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”
–1 Thessalonians 5:2
Can men prepare physically for what’s coming?
Can a man outsmart God?
IF someone feels they are more clever than God, then that person will in no way pay attention to these words.
Great earthquakes, great war, great distress: this is what is coming.
Approximately 2600 years ago, the prophet Ezekiel wrote of how God will shake the entire earth in that day.
“For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.”
–Ezekiel 38:19-20
About 700 years later, the apostle John wrote a little more detailed description of that day’s great earthquake.
“And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.”
–Revelation 6:15, 16:20
“And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.”
–Revelation 16:18
John wrote about 1900 years ago.
No men will survive due to their physical preparation.
“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool”
–Proverbs 28:26
“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”
–Psalm 118:8
Who will the reader trust: himself or God?
The ONLY preparation for what’s coming is for one to throw themselves on the mercy of the Lord.
What will the reader do?
“for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”
–Joel 2:11
The only preparation to be made is on one’s knees petitioning the Creator.
But time grows short.
Even the heathen can feel it.

THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
