FUN Which Isn’t

FUN! A tool of Satan

FUN: THE LIE AND THE TRAP

FUN noun \ˈfən\
the feeling of being amused or entertained; light-hearted amusement.

“And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee”
–Luke 12:19-20

In the times in which we live, FUN! is valued perhaps more than practically anything else.

In the modern world, the pursuit of FUN! occupies immense amounts of time, effort and money among not just the youth, but EVERY age group.

In America, the very highest law of the land (the US constitution) GUARANTEES Americans will have fun.

Well, it guarantees “the pursuit of happiness.” But what is happiness if not FUN!?

Whatever unseemly behavior has been acted out, the claim of “I was just having a little FUN!” is supposed to explain all.

Whatever blasphemous words come from someone’s mouth, the question “Don’t you have a sense of humor? I was just having FUN!” turns the tables on anyone who protests.

Whatever crooked, shady motives someone may have, all they need to do is fake a laugh and claim they were just having some FUN! and everything is supposedly all better.

“Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death, Is the man who deceives his neighbor, And says, “I was only joking!”
Proverbs 26:18-19

FUN! is one of Satan’s favorite lies: it’s not only deceptive, it promises SO much very more than it EVER delivers.

Perhaps that’s why the word “fun” is not found in the Bible.

The devil’s lies, “Don’t worry! You’ll have fun!”

Meanwhile, his plan is: FUN!, FUN!, FUN! –and then you die.

FUN! is a concept which asks the celebration of the ONE good time and forgiveness for the other NINETY-NINE forgettable or bad times.

FUN! is the false hope which promises so much, delivers so little and which, in the end, tells so many lies.

Clear-thinking Experience never really ever has a chance.

The wild pursuit of FUN! is usually associated with the youth (who doesn’t know any better). But in the times in which we live, FUN! claims many, many older victims as well.

Believing the seductive promises of FUN! requires the triumph of naive imagination over sober-minded experience.

“and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth;”
–Genesis 8:21

How many associate FUN! with drinking or ANY form of over-indulgence?

“Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
–Galatians 5:21

Yes, FUN! promises so much more than it delivers.

It’s a siren song; a temptation; a snare.

How many foolish people have lost their lives in pursuit of FUN! which clearly wasn’t?

So much heartbreak, crime and sin are supposedly justified or winked at if the person was only “having some FUN!” How many victims of cruel and malicious behaviors have heard that they were “pranked“?

And whenever any of this is pointed out, the retort “You’re just trying to be a killjoy! I just want to have a little FUN!”

Don’t celebrities have FUN!?

Don’t the stars of Hollywood and the music world know how to have fun?

So what if so many of them die before they’re 30? They have a good time doing it!

Live fast, die young and leave a good-looking corpse” seems so much FUN!–until it actually comes to pass.

Which is the reason, the more chaotic the world becomes, the more the world will proclaim FUN!.

And the more disappointed will be the masses of lost men when the FUN! they’ve been promised turns out to be anything but.

“Whom are you mocking? Against whom do you open your mouth wide and stick out your tongue? Are you not children of transgression, the offspring of deceit,”
–Isaiah 57:4

Is the reader tired of chasing after FUN! which never materializes?

Isn’t it time the reader knew true joy instead of fake FUN!?

Tender Mercies of the Lord: Will Not Always Be Available

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
John 20:31

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
