“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

One would think, based on the great number of books, DVDs, TV shows, movies and sermons that Americans would be well prepared for the end times.

But after a depressing tour of “Christian” websites and churches, one would have to conclude that, sadly, that is not the case.

Many can see that the world is prepared to descend into chaos. Many are trying to prepare–but lacking the truth of the Word o God, they are attempting to prepare physically.

END TIMES PREPARATION: 15 Ways to Prepare for the End Times

Believers are to be watching for the return of Jesus Christ.

But many in today’s churches are watching for events other than the return of Jesus Christ.

  • Some are watching for the return of the Nephilim, ETs and other science fiction-themed events.

Attacking Genesis: The New Prophets of Science Fiction Eschatology

  • Others are not watching for the return of Jesus Christ and are instead watching for the churches to take dominion over the earth before Jesus can return. This is as unbiblical an outlook as the Nephilim-watchers.

Dominion Theology: The End Times Lie of Dominionism

  • Still others are watching for an end times revival before Jesus returns. The Bible says there will be a great end times revival–but it will be satanic in nature.A great end times rebellion against God and His Anointed Jesus Christ is what the Bible declares will happen.

“The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.”
–Psalm 2:2-3

For those who inhabit the apostate churches, this great rebellion (“falling away”) will look like a great revival.

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
–2Thessalonians 2:3

The apostate churches will fill and people will worship the same deities these churches now worship: the dragon [Satan].

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast…And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,8

Of course this end times rebellion will look like a revival to those who do not know God’s Word. Many counterfeit Christians will then drop their pretenses, exalting at last in their open worship of the dragon.

  • Some are watching for the rebuilding of a Jewish temple, even though the Bible clearly states that God no longer dwells in temples made by the hands of man.

  • Some are watching for a secret return of Jesus to whisk church-goers away to heaven where they will be safe from having to witness for Jesus Christ. Those overcomers who stand up for Jesus using the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony and loving not their lives unto death are referred to as “losers” who are “Left Behind.

““But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”

There’s a number of other events which men watch for instead of Jesus Christ: signs and lying wonders, seven-year peace treaties about which the Bible is silent and other cunningly devised end times fables.

The believer is watching for the return of Jesus Christ because believers know the season, though not the day or the hour.

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.”
–1Thessalonians 5:1-2

“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
–Matthew 24:36

“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.”
–Mark 13:28-29

Believers are watching for the return of Jesus Christ. There are a number of events which will take place, but they are events clearly set forth in God’s Word.

Those in the apostate churches are watching for a number of events which are not in God’s Word, but which are taught by men.

Perhaps that is why the overwhelming majority of mankind will be so surprised by the return of Jesus Christ.

“And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.”

The world will soon descend into chaos.

Is the reader watching for Jesus Christ?

Or is he referring to a chart or timeline prepared by men?

BEWARE FALSE PROPHETS

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”
–Matthew 24:11

The email box is regularly bombarded by false prophets, false teachers, deceitful workers, wolves in sheep’s clothing and others touting their latest “prophecies” (which are really their latest assaults on the Bible).

One such deception involves the promotion of the idea that the war mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39 (sometimes called the “Gog-Magog War” is a separate war prior to Armageddon.

GOG-MAGOG is Armageddon

But this is only one of many which circulate in the physical world and in the cyber world of the Internet, hoping to find their way into the hands of the unwary.

Some give unbiblical accounts of that which is to come: accounts which contradict God’s Word. Some give “prophetic words” to their readers which never come to pass. Others distract with false, lurid accounts of the end times which twist Scripture out of all context and mislead those interested in following Jesus Christ.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
–Matthew 7:15

Practically every book in the New Testament warns of those who pretend to be Christians, but are really working for the enemy.

The Bible calls these men “false apostles, wolves in sheep’s clothing, deceitful workers, ‘[those] that would pervert the gospel of Christ,’ evil workers, dogs, unruly and vain talkers, deceivers, ravenous wolves, false prophets, false teachers, Satan’s ministers, liars, men of corrupt minds, evil men, seducers, deceived and deceiving, scoffers, mockers, antichrists, ungodly men.

These are the men the Bible warned would be in the churches.

And so they are.

False prophets and false teachers have always been a problem. However, the proliferation of such men is a sign of the end times. IF people studied their Bibles, false prophets might not be as big a problem.

BUT, in the end times, those who study God’s Word are few.

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.”
–Acts 20:29-30

False prophets and false teachers thrive when few know the Word of God. In fact, false prophets and deceitful workers DEPEND on few knowing the Word of God.

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
–2Peter 2:1

At one time, false prophets wandered the streets of Jerusalem plying their trade and misleading the unwary.

In the times in which we live, many hawk their wares over the Internet instead.

Just because someone uses email instead of shouting from his mouth, he is no less a false prophet.

Beware false prophets: in the times in which we live, this is the only type of prophet most people will encounter.

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
–1John 4:1

There is still time to turn away from following men (false prophets and apostles, deceitful workers, wolves in sheep’s clothing and others), to turn to Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God.

The Apostate Churches: Lies Breeding Lies

End Times Lie: From the Apostate churches

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.”
–2Peter 2:1

During a discussion several months ago, the question was posed, “What is the biggest lie (or deception) the apostate churches tell?”

THAT was a very good question.

“Other gospels,” “false salvation messages and practices which look and sound good” and “another gospel” were probably the biggest lies settled upon by the group.

And these are serious lies.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
–Galatians 1:8-9

BUT one lie which piqued some interest was the following.

“That’s your interpretation.”

“That’s your opinion.”

…with the subject immediately changed and the discussion closed.

This is a deception which introduces error, allows it to be taught, destroys sound Biblical teaching and, more importantly, prevents rebuking and correction of those errors.

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”
–2Peter 1:20

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
–2Timothy 2:16-17

“That’s your interpretation.”

This lie allows the wolf in sheep’s clothing to make an ungodly, unbiblical declaration without fear of rebuke or correction.

For example: A “Bible study leader” justifies a woman serving as a pastor (in direct contradiction of 1Timothy 2:12 and 3:2 as well as 1Corinthians 14:34).

IF anyone challenges this unbiblical claim, they begin with “That’s your opinion.”

IF the challenger cites the verses and says “No, this is not opinion, this is Scripture.”

“Well, that’s your interpretation.”

And the discussion is immediately switched to something else.

In this manner, the apostate churches corrupt the Word of God.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
2Timothy 3:1,5

Perhaps not the biggest lie, but a grievous one, nonetheless.

This is a deception which breeds further deceptions.

Without correction and rebuke, unchecked corruption of God’s Word has spread like a cancer throughout the buildings which pose as centers for the worship of Jesus Christ.

The whole world will worship the dragon [Satan] and the man of sin. And they will worship them in the network of corrupt, apostate churches which even now flourish in every town, village and city in America.

“And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast…And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
–Revelation 13:4,8

Believers are commanded to be not deceived.

Is the reader following that command?

One easy way to tell is the use of “Why” and “How” in the headlines of an article.
