END TIMES CHOICE: Fear of the LORD or the Fear of Man

The Fear of the LORD, The fear of man

“In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.”
–Proverbs 14:26

There is no fear of the LORD in the land.

Many are trying to prepare for the end times by physically putting away guns, groceries and gold. Others spend big bucks buying underground bunkers. Preppers make list after list after never-ending list of the items they need to secure and stash away.

But NONE of this physical preparation brings peace of mind: it only begets more fear: fear that someone knows where you’re keeping your secret stash; more torment that something has been forgotten; more fear of what other men can and will do.

Because there is no fear of the LORD, men rely on themselves.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
–Proverbs 3:5

When a man has no fear of the LORD, he will fall prey to another type of fear: the fear of man.

This is another kind of fear altogether.

The fear of the LORD brings only benefits to the believer.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”
–Proverbs 1:7

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandment”
–Psalm 111:10

“The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”
–Proverbs 10:27

“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”
–Proverbs 14:27

“The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.”
–Proverbs 19:23

“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.”
–Proverbs 22:5

Wicked men who do not have the fear of the LORD are tormented with fright and fear of other men. This fear of man and what man can do chases away any hope of peace.

“They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

And the way of peace have they not known:

There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
–Romans 3:12-18

“But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
–Isaiah 57:20-21

“The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
–Proverbs 28:1

And so men make their choice: the fear of the LORD or the fear of man.

Most make the wrong choice–particularly in the times in which we live.

“For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD”
–Proverbs 1:29

Every person on earth will have to make a choice.

Will the reader choose to fear the LORD and reap the many benefits?

OR will the reader wallow in the fear of man, trusting to himself and the schemes of man?

The time to make the choice is fast approaching. There’s still time to trade the nagging torment of the fear of man for the peace and refuge of the fear of the LORD.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
