Workers of Iniquity Need a Savior Too

Workers of Iniquity

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
–John 3:36

Living a Lie From Generation to Generation

From time-to-time, the “workers of iniquity” are mentioned.

It’s usually helpful to define one’s terms. This is how this writers uses the term “workers of iniquity.”

By “workers of iniquity,” it is not meant that these folks are particularly evil or anti-social.  Some appear to be upright citizens of their community. Many are friendly and others are what might be even referred to as “helpful” or “good neighbors.”

A great many are church-goers.

What then?

When this writers refers to “workers of iniquity,” he is usually alluding to those folks who 1) work for the enemy in advancing his end times plans, both great and small; 2) worship other gods; and yet 3) live a lie by pretending to worship God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ.

Usually, these folks come from families in which generations have lived this particular lie, passing it down from the parents to the children. They most usually–though not always–are people of substantial means and live materially-comfortable lives.

Still, they are workers of iniquity and as such, abide in the wrath of God.

“The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.”
–Psalm 5:5

That being the case, it’s useful to keep in mind that the workers of iniquity are sinners like everyone else: no better, no worse.

And sinners need a savior–whether or not they currently believe in that savior.

And believers are to preach the gospel to sinners–even if those sinners become offended–which is usually the case.

The workers of iniquity have allegiances which run counter to Jesus Christ. The great majority of them will reject the free gift of salvation offered to the sinner through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Which makes it all the more important they hear the gospel so that a few of them may be saved.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”
–John 4:47

Does the reader have doubts about the path he is on?

THE GOSPEL

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3
