The piece is addressed to youth because the youth,–though heavily indoctrinated 24/7 by society, popular culture, entertainment, churches, music, TV, movies, news, government and education–have, for the most part, not yet settled into the moral concrete of routine. Unlike the vast majority of their elders, the youth still hold to the idea that they can change their lives. Thus, though their hopelessness is great, their hope might yet be greater.]
From a trip around the Internet to survey the various sites of the youth, it’s apparent they are the victims of a hopelessness.
This hopelessness so permeates their being, most are completely unaware of it–except during the times when it drags them down into a sad sort of desperate despair.
Many who maintain such Internet outposts try to console themselves using the various nostrums of the world.
And so, their sites are decorated with inane quotes by the nonentities the popular culture has chosen to exalt; pictures of newly-minted celebrities whose shelf life has already expired; and/or thoughts and comments of others similarly disoriented and disaffected with their lives.
Having been taught that the only truth is nothing more than a collection of old, worn-out, no-longer-believed stories, the youth are rudderless and thus search for some solid ground amidst the cesspool into which they have been thrown. Again, not being familiar with the truth, they attempt to hold onto those things offered by the world which cannot last.
What follows are a few of the things onto which youth desperately attempt to cling.
THE VANITY OF MODERN LOVE
The youth place much stock in LOVE.
Yet, not knowing what love is, they grope about as if blind. They KNOW what they have been told is not love, yet they lack the direction or knowledge for finding true love.
Modern Romance: Love Which Isn’t
Real, true love is something that is enjoyed by BOTH people; the modern version is a PERversion. One person seemingly in control, the other (who is convinced he or she is in “love“), is along for the ride and provides most, (if not ALL) of the trappings of a loving union.
Real, true love is NOT a spell that one person alone is under. That is NOT love. That is obsession, idol worship, enslavement, compulsion, a form of control, something: but it is NOT love.
Often the enslaved one will attribute the unhappiness as a natural “part of being in love.”
After all, don’t countless songs and TV shows claim this very thing happens? Doesn’t everyone know about the “pain of love“?
Those cool singers wouldn’t lie, would they?
Their search for love in the world will be never-ending: the world offers many things–lusts, appetites, control, power, wealth, knowledge, pleasure, honors–but one thing it cannot offer is true love.
What the world DOES offer is a cheap, plastic version of love.
It is this cheap, tawdry version which the youth know because it is the only love offered by the world. This cheap, plastic version focuses on SELF–when true love is, almost by definition, selfLESS.
THE VACUITY OF SELF
Vacuity – noun va·cu·i·ty \va-ˈkyü-ə-tē, və-\: the state of lacking any real meaning, importance, or intelligence
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
–2Timothy 3:1-5
“Men shall be lovers of their own selves.”
God’s Word does not lie. It’s truths depend upon He who created everything and knows the end from the beginning. There is no coincidence. Men in the end times are certainly lovers of their own selves. The youth have been relentlessly indoctrinated with this defect of self until it is second nature.
The Age of Self is–has been!–upon us.
The daily devotion of the youth is a celebration of all things self. Their vision is an endlessly inward-looking one.
The selfie is the end times art form.
Selfishness has been rebranded to be something (ANYTHING!) other than selfishness.
But where did the youth learn the mind-numbing ennui which springs from a ceaseless celebration of self?
It has not only been taught, it has been indoctrinated: by the schools, by the culture, by the government/media.
It is a feeling familiar to even those at the top of the societal food chain.
“Thus the days of life are consumed, one by one, without an object beyond the present moment; ever flying from the ennui of that, yet carrying it with us; eternally in pursuit of happiness, which keeps eternally before us.”

In fact, such hopelessness is magnified among those whose highest allegiance is to themselves or other idols of this world.

Not being very old, the youth know only what surrounds them: they have no memories of an earlier time when pockets of normality still remained.
What they ARE familiar with is a distortion/perversion of that which, at one time, might have been good.
THE PERVERSION OF FAMILY
“Without natural affection…”
—Romans 1:28-32 and 2Timothy 3:1-5
So many of the youth have never known the comfort or security a healthy family life affords.
Fewer still have known the comfort, security and PEACE a healthy family life in a Jesus-centered family provides. (We are referring to a true Jesus-centered family, not one of the counterfeit models the world and churches are eager to offer which bring reproach upon the name of Jesus Christ.)
The Bible predicted as much for the end times in which we live.
THE PERVERSION OF THE CHURCHES
“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
–2Corinthians 11:13-15
There is a certain segment of the youth which have been reared in “church families.”
While a portion of this group may have better manners or might pay a more convincing lip service to God Almighty, they cannot know God because the churches have offered them their idols instead of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The youth, like many of their elders, have been submerged in a spiritually deadly form of pagan idol worship, traditions of men, occult rituals and warmed-over witchcraft so long, they believe it to be true worship of the living God.
IN FACT, the churches have so successfully substituted other gospels for the true gospel of Jesus Christ, the great majority of the youth–particularly those found in the churches–do not know the gospel, let alone are able to share it with someone else.

THE PERVERSION OF UNITY
“Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
–Luke 12:51-53
The Lord Jesus Christ said that he came to bring a sword, not peace.
Yet, the end times churches, media and world relentlessly preach their mantra of “unity!” For a wicked world, unity becomes more important than Jesus Christ or God’s Word.
And so, the end times world will be united–for Satan.

CONCLUSION
“Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

And so like salmon swimming upstream, the youth struggle against the deception which surrounds them; that’s been fed to them their entire lives; that, even to this day, continues to misinform their existence about the real world.
Virtual Reality and other Simulated Realities Are End Times Deceptions
This constant struggle produces not only a feeling of being worn out: its ultimate end is a feeling of being overwhelmed; of a hopelessness; of a despair which itself leaves its victims desperate and gasping for breath.
The youth, like all men, have a choice.
Sadly, MOST will follow their elders down the broad and easy road to perdition.
However, a FEW will make the radical decision to break free, swim against the popular tide and move to the truth.
Does the reader know something about the world is not right?
Would the reader like to know what that “something” is?
There is yet a little time to change direction (repent) and know the truth.
