“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
–Proverbs 12:15
Those who practice divination labor under a curse: a self-imposed curse.

Contemporary Christian Divination: The False Claims and Practices of Christian Mystics – Mysticism has a rich tradition in the Catholic Church, but has made GREAT inroads into the evangelical community over the last 30 years or so. Much of this can be attributed to the behavior and teachings of the talking heads on “christian” TV.

“There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD”
–Deuteronomy 18:10-12“Christian divination” is like “Christian murder“: there is no such thing.
Still, many in the pagan churches practice divination.
Divination really is a curse–though those who practice such things would protest otherwise.
OF COURSE, those who access illegitimate supernatural power believe that they have unlocked the door to a great benefit–some have spent much time and many resources jumping through hoops in order to obtain their familiar spirit.
The Normalizing of Illegitimate Supernatural Power in the End Times
BUT the Bible declares that familiar spirits not only come from God: they are JUDGMENTS from God. The one who practices divination has a familiar spirit (which is believed to be a source of great power/wealth/knowledge/etc) which is thought to be of assistance.
But such spirits HATE humans and seek their destruction. We can know this is true by the Biblical accounts of those who engaged with familiar spirits OR EVEN THOSE WHO HAD SUCH SPIRITS (Saul, Ahab, Jezebel, etc.) This can also be verified by the many health, family and other problems suffered by those who access this illegitimate power.
“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”
–Leviticus 20:6
Thus, while the deceiving spirit may speak many soothing words to the deceived diviner AND while the diviner may receive from his familiar various supernatural parlor tricks, trinkets and other temporary advantages which are fleeting, chaos and calamity often dog the steps of such deluded humans.
While the diviner may receive money from his familiar, often it seems such wealth slips through his fingers–and he need more, ever more.
All the diviner need do to escape this judgment is to reject the familiar spirit.
Which such people (deceived as they are into believing they have something of great value) are loath to do.
Talk about a fitting judgment: such people actually CLING to the source of their destruction.
Which is why we earlier referred to divination as a self-imposed “curse.”
When seeking a solution, the diviner most often seeks answers from the very thing that is causing his problems.
Even as his life spirals downward, the diviner willingly–often eagerly–continues to partake of his judgment.
“As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.”
–Proverbs 26:11
Does the reader believe he has a great power denied to most other men who do not possess his special knowledge of occult spirits?
There is still yet a little time to change direction (repent) and throw oneself on the mercy of an ever-merciful God Almighty.

THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
