Over the past 240+ years, the goal of many Americans might be summed up by the following.
“They just wanted to live a normal life.”
What exactly is a normal life? – A “normal life” was something illusionary which was pursued by many in the USA.
It has been another way of saying “The American Way of Life” or the “American Dream” which was always characterized by the world as having the things of this world; of living the lifestyle of the world; of having the “good things of life” as defined by the world.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1John 2:15-16
In 3 words, a normal American life meant: more, more, more…

In 2016 America, when people say they just “want to move on,” most mean they want to return to the pursuit of a “normal life;” of The American Way of Life.
They want to pursue the things of this world.
They want to live as the world expects them to live.
They want the temporary–many times calming–delusion that making peace with the world brings.
WHAT WILL many Americans do when their reality radically changes from what they’ve been taught is “normal?”
IS the reader reasonably, materially comfortable in life?
DOES the reader wonder if “that’s all there is“?
DOES the reader want more out of life?
There is yet a little time to change direction (repent).

THE GOSPEL

Wow I needed to read this a friend was just telling me he just wants to live a normal life I am a saved Christian he is not I ask him what a normal life is he said just as most say the illusion thanks for posting
