Sin, though pleasurable for a season, enslaves those who entangle themselves with it.
Many of those who become enslaved begin with the notion that they will only try SIN out for a little while. Most convince themselves they are only doing it for “FUN!”
But eventually, they become enslaved.
Down through the ages, there have been other names used for this enslavement and the obsessions and physical compulsions which now go by the modern name of “addiction.”
The government/media devotes a LOT of time and resources spinning tales of the various modern addictions and their dire consequences. There are even MORE tales spun of the “solutions” offered by the government to take care of these “addictions.”
It doesn’t take much work to uncover the government’s utter and complete failure of solving ANY of the many problems it attributes to “addictions.” But that doesn’t stop the government from using such addictions as an excuse to extend its control over the population–and the media from promoting such failures as “solutions.”

FIVE BIG SINS in the End Times
(The Greek word, pharmakōn, can be translated as either “sorcery” or “medicine” (drugs), or “poison.”
Either of the three words make sense given what we see every day in the world around us.

All that being said, the linked story does the usual: it finds the worst dregs of society and, after providing the gawking readers a spectacle, ultimately tries to pass the enslaved off as “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.”
Such narratives always end up promoting the latest government/media “solution.”
As a final note: right before the government “cracks down” (almost always on the law-abiding) on drugs, the media runs the most gruesome stories about “addiction” it can find.
IF you are a senior citizen on pain medication, this is your warning.

IN REALITY:
There are no addictions.
There are those who are enslaved by forces much stronger than the human will.
It’s sad: the enslaved wander about, some sincerely desiring to be free.
BUT they will not be given the solution to their problem. They will only be provided empty words.
There is a spiritual component to drugs which the government/media will NEVER address.
Doing so would come too close to the truth of the matter: too much time and resources have been invested in keeping those enslaved in the dark.
Knowing the problem is the first step toward finding a REAL solution.
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

IS the reader or a member of the reader’s family enslaved?
IS the reader tired of “solutions” which NEVER work for more than a short period?
DOES the reader sincerely desire to be free?
OR does the reader merely wish to provide excuses for his enslavement?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
