[NOTE: The term “phoney war” originated in World War II. It denoted a period of time after war was declared that practically no hostilities took place between the two sides.]
“Tis the season!”
It’s almost time for that counterfeit crusade; that faux fight; that ersatz engagement between the forces of the OBVIOUSLY SECULAR and The End Times Church of the Tares.
Of course, this is referring to the phony war: the War on Christmas.
From a year ago:
Starbucks Defends ‘Anti-Christmas’ Holiday Red Cup Design – It’s that time of year already: fake Christians fighting fake wars over ‘Christmas.’
It’s the USA’s National Season of Greed, where the focus is on coveting and over-indulgence.
And no payments until July with approved credit.
This has become as much a part of the annual Season of Greed as returning gift cards for the $$$.
It’s when pretend Christians fight a pretend war for the honor of Christmas, a pagan holiday which doesn’t even much pretend anymore to honor Jesus Christ.
And American church folk have been taught that they “win” this fake war whenever they say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays!”

In the meantime, the whole affair drags the name of Jesus through the mud because the world associates it with the Season of Greed.
In this war, real Christians are conscientious objectors.

DOES the reader get riled up over the “War on Christmas“?
WHY?
IS the reader still caught up in all of the material things and traditions of men which mark the Season of Greed?
THERE is still time to change direction (repent) and turn to the truth.

THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
—2 Corinthians 4:3
