BLACK FRIDAY and the SEASON OF GREED: A Uniquely American Holiday

THE World’s Most Christian Nation Ever™!

A UNIQUELY AMERICAN HOLIDAY: Black Friday kicks off The 2013 Season of Greed.

Black Friday” is aptly named: it has devolved into a display of covetousness, greed and selfishness far beyond what even its biggest promoters could have hoped.

It’s a celebration of the world and the things of this world–especially the lust of the eyes.

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
–1John 2:15-16

IF anyone argues how wonderful, how upright, how godly America is, this holiday about stuff testifies against them.

Campers already staking out Black Friday bargains – In 2013 America, people trade their time–a finite resource –for a few trinkets or 30% off the latest bauble which will be forgotten by this time next year.

The Season of Greed is upon us.

Black Friday 2013 Promises Complications for Online Shoppers – Black Friday and the Season of Greed are so very far away from the little town of Bethlehem…

Black Friday is a uniquely American holiday–and the Season of Greed is uniquely American, too.

It’s a time of the year when the masses can often wallow in the same material depravity which was formerly reserved for wealthy elitists and the rich and celebrated.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

It’s a celebration of covetousness, greed and the lust of the eyes in the “World’s Most Christian Nation Ever™:”

HAS the reader celebrated Black Friday?

HAS the reader celebrated the Season of Greed in their own private way?

PERHAPS the reader has already spent hours and hours stockpiling gifts and checking list upon lists of what to buy for so-and-so?

There is still time to change direction (repent) and place one’s trust in Almighty God.

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:”
2 Corinthians 4:3

  1. The Season of Greed is not only in the USA it is all over the world. Everything someone likes he/she has to have it. Not within the budget well then charge it. That’s what charge cards for aren’t they? I do not like that attitude.
