One of the greatest American delusions is the one about American rebels are Christians.
Of course the Bible is VERY clear on this matter–but seriously: who in America studies their Bible?
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. “
–1Samuel 15:23
It doesn’t matter if the rebel believes the government to be a “tyranny“: rebellion against the civil authorities is rebellion against God Almighty.
Self-willed Despisers of Authority – Though the article’s focus is homosexuality, it serves as a good reminder that those who rebel against the civil authorities rebel against those whom God has installed and, ultimately, God Himself.
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”
—Romans 13:1-2
“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:”

“But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government [Newer Bible versions translate “government” as “authority”.] Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.”
