Modern man loves a great many things.
But the thing modern man MOST loves (perhaps) is being told a good story.
Special Ops are using rapid DNA readers – Modern man lives in a time of stories. Scientists, doctors, educators dentists, wolves in the pulpit, historians: in short, everyone in authority is in the business of storytelling.
One goes to the doctor and says “Well, how am I, Doc?” And then the doctor proceeds to tell him a story.
It matters little whether the story is true or not; the patient just wants to hear someone in authority tell him a story. Hopefully, it will be a happy story or be a story with a happy ending.
“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:”

Modern man is fed a steady stream of stories about what has happened in the past, about what will happen in the future and what is happening at present.
And modern man believes all that he is told.
And so, one suspects that one day the story of DNA and the absolute surety of its results will be found every bit as contrived as the surety of Carbon-14 dating.
Once people cease believing the Word of the LORD, they will believe anything.
