Worsening Condition of Man: Warnings for the End Times

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
–2Timothy 3:13

MORE END TIMES WARNINGS

Several recent discussions have centered around the topic of “People appear to be worse than they used to be–and not just worse, but worse by a huge degree.”

Various reasons for the sad condition of men were offered: the government, corruption, money, lack of money, etc.

Finally, it was offered that the general condition of evil in men is not a sign of WHAT but of WHEN.

When it was brought up that the Bible is full of warnings about how bad man will get in the times before the return of Jesus Christ, the conversations fell strangely silent. But the fact remains: there are any number of warnings about the depraved condition of man in the end times.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
–2Timothy 3:1-5

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;”
–1Timothy 4:1

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
–Matthew 24:12

“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.”
–Jude 1:18

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts; And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation “

“Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.”

Finally, here is an observation about the continued descent of the human race.

It does not get better; it only gets worse.

“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

DOES the reader notice the worsening condition of men?

DOES the reader blame this worsening condition on a any number of factors?

DOES the reader believe that men will get better?

THERE is still time left to change direction (repent) and call upon the name of the LORD.

Is your calling and election sure?
