“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.”
–Ecclesiastes 1:9-11
The Book of Ecclesiastes was the product of Solomon.
Even though the writer is clear as to the authorship, the world challenges every word of the Bible. Over the past 100 years, the world has challenged the authorship of the Book Ecclesiastes.
“The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.”
–Ecclesiastes 1:1
King David only had one son who was king.
King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. He asked God Almighty for wisdom.
“And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.”
–1Kings 3:11-12
One of the best lessons to be learned from Ecclesiastes is “There is no new thing under the sun.”
“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past. “
–Eccleasiastes 3:15
Modern man chooses to believe that he is the latest and greatest there has ever been. He foolishly chooses to believe that he sits on the pinnacle of human achievement.
Even though there are bits and pieces of the historical record–which are known–which contradict the fables spun by modern man, modern man chooses to believe that he “invented” most of the modern world over a 60-80 year period in the late 1800s-early 1900s.
Modern man chooses to believe there has been nothing like him and his “inventions.” Even though physical evidence (much of it “explained” away by science and history as “mysteries“) abounds which put the lie to the narratives of modern man, these words of other men are believed, rather than those of God’s Word–particularly Ecclesiastes.
“For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.”
–Ecclesiastes 2:16
And because certain unscrupulous men tightly control information about the past, mankind will go through the horrific period of the end times.
“He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.”
–George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four

Rather than the words of the “experts,” “learned men” and “anointed men” exalted by the world, modern man would do well to dwell upon the words of Ecclesiastes 1:9-11 when pondering many of the heavy questions posed by the end times.
The reader would do well to remember one of the central lessons of the Book of Ecclesiastes.
“And there is no new thing under the sun.”
–Ecclesiastes 1:9
There is only that with which the reader was previously unfamiliar.
HAS the reader believed the stories of man about the past?
HAS the reader believed the stories of man about the future?
THOUGH time grows short, there is still time left to change direction (repent) and call upon the name of the LORD.
Do not wait until it is too late.

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation
THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
