Sincerely Seek the Mercy of the LORD: Do Not Wait, Do Not Delay

The limits of God's Mercy

“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Hebrews 8:12

The churches and the TV preachers are in the habit of referring to the “mercy of the LORD” or “God’s mercy“.

YET, the foolish and wicked should understand that God is not mocked.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
–Galatians 6:7

The gracious mercy of the LORD is extended to all those who sincerely seek him.

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
–Luke 11:9-10

Sincerely” is the key word.

In addition, God’s mercy is extended to those who fear Him.

One reason why this is so: God remembers that man is little more than a bag of dirt.

“For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:11-14

In the end times, man has been taught to fear many things. But fearing the LORD is not usually among those things taught by man.

What IS taught is fear of other men. Many substitute a fear of man for a fear of the LORD.

This is a mistake.

“The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.”
–Proverbs 29:25

It should be emphasized: there is NO advantage in waiting to throw oneself on the mercy of the LORD.

None whatsoever.

In fact, quite the opposite.

Those who wait until all other avenues are exhausted will find that the LORD will not hear their cries. Though the wicked will cry out to the LORD, God knows the heart and minds of men; He knows when men are sincere in seeking Him and when they do it because they have no other options left.

“Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.”
Jeremiah 11:11

“Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.”
–Micah 3:4

“Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.”
Proverbs 1:28-30

Who are all of these people who are calling on the Lord for mercy and who He declares He will not hear?

These ARE NOT worldly people: the world wants no part of God and His mercies. Indeed: the world mostly does not believe in God or His mercy.

These are the people who inhabit the churches: who think they are right with God because they are good enough to give Him an hour or two of their precious time during the week. These are people who have been deceived that they are good Christians because they say “Merry Christmas” instead of “Happy Holidays.”

These are people who are very comfortable with this present world. They enjoy and value the things of this world.

“know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
James 4:4

These are church people who constantly make excuses for being comfortable in this world. These are enemies of God who have deceived themselves into believing they are His friends.

LORD, LORD: Who is Crying Lord, Lord?

They refuse to obey His commandments. They value their comfort and their church buildings more than they value Jesus Christ or God’s Word. They refuse to harken to His voice in the good times.

And so, God will refuse to hear their cries when times turn bad.

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
Isaiah 59:1-2

Do NOT wait.

Do NOT delay.

It is later than you think.

There is no valid reason to delay: there are only deceptions (this includes self-deception).

Call upon the mercy of the LORD and believe on His Son, Jesus Christ.

While there is yet still time.

HAS the reader been putting off coming into the kingdom of heaven?

DOES the reader come up with reasons why now is not the best time to dedicate his life to the LORD?

IF so, there is still time to repent, call on God and enter the kingdom of heaven.

DOES the reader believe he is saved?

DOES the reader believe he is NOT saved?

Time is Running Out: Today is the Day of Salvation

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
