“A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.”
–Ecclesiastes 7:1
Christmas is a season which is almost universally celebrated in America–even by those who make no show of being Christians.
Some believe it to be a Christian celebration.
Some know it is not–but celebrate the holidays under false pretenses.
These are those who live a lie.
At one time, even the pagans and the deceived used the winter celebration to show their “softer side” to other men. As we near the climax of human history, this is becoming less a feature of the holidays.
However, there ARE still those–mostly older people–who still honor the traditions of the past.
HOWEVER, just because the pagans and other anti-Christians celebrate the holiday under false pretenses, does not mean that believers cannot pause and give thanks for Jesus Christ, both for what He has done and for what He is to do.
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
–Revelation 21:22-23
Of course, pausing to remember and give thanks to the King of Kings is as proper and obedient a thing to do on Christmas as on any other day of the year; at any other time of the year.
So, as Christmas Day 2017 fast approaches–amongst the constant reminders that the last days also are fast approaching–it would do well to contemplate the reason the world gives (not the real reasons, but the world’s supposed one) for its celebration of pagan Christmas.
There will soon come another and the world will soon enough worship and celebrate his coming.
For a season.
“I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.”
–John 5:43
HOW does the reader celebrate Christmas?
It is not yet too late: there is still time to repent, place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
