“And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.“
–Revelation 9:20-21
Much has been said about theft in the end times.
Much has also been written about how theft is one of the five big sins of the end times (along with idolatry, murder, sorcery (witchcraft) and fornication).
But there is a fairly good chance the reader himself has experienced the marked increase in end times theft (including robbery).
But a few things have not been emphasized during the previous discussions on theft in the end times.
1- The Prevalence of Theft
The reader is no doubt aware of the increase in theft at the local level. But the real increase in theft is where the REAL money is: at the national and commercial levels.
At the national level of politics, the opportunities for theft on a grand scale are enormous.
OR maybe the reader believes all of the stories written about the accidental waste of billions of dollars.
Maybe the reader believes the stories of the incompetent government employee who spends hundreds of dollars on hammers?
Perhaps the reader forgets that first one party begs the public to spend a trillion dollars on “infrastructure.” Perhaps the reader forgets that a few years later, the other party begins telling the public “We need a LOT of money for “infrastructure!””
The reader knows of politicians who entered “public service” penniless and left years later as millionaires. Where does the reader suppose the politician got his money from?
When a cash machine is created (the American government) which accumulates very large piles of wealth, it should be no surprise when a line appears full of those who want to steal that wealth.
2- Theft on a large commercial scale
A large national company which is very familiar to millions sends out its bill each month. Along with the customers’ charges, a number of other charges–neither ordered nor known about by the customer–appear on the bill.
This is a regular occurrence.
When the customer sees the illegitimate charges, he notifies the company. The company representative is bright and cheerful and promises to delete the unwarranted charges from the customer’s bill–which they promptly do.
NOW, this is repeated for months, sometimes every month.
The question becomes “What happens to the customers who do not check their bills.
Perhaps some of them have their bill paid automatically from their bank account.
It is very likely the company pockets this money. After all, it is most customers’ experience that the company does not initiate the notification of their wrong billings: it has been wholly up to the customer to find and then point out the company’s over-billings.
When the mistake occurs once, then it probably is just a mistake.
When it occurs several times, something is very wrong.
When it occurs regularly, this is a company policy.
It is also theft.
3- Theft is not only a prevalent end times sin, men enjoy their theft and do not turn away from it
The Bible informs us that men will not “repent…of their thefts.”
This means that, given the chance, men will continue to steal rather than change direction (repent) and deal honestly with others.
Men become quite accustomed to their thefts.
And as stated: Theft is one of the big sins of the end times.
HAS the reader become aware of losing something once his due to theft?
HAS the reader engaged in gaining something of someone else’s due to theft?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
–1 Corinthians 15:1-8
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
