Remember Kevin Bacon, the actor that starred in Footloose in 1984? There’s been a game for quite some time called the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.
Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a parlor game based on the “six degrees of separation” concept, which posits that any two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart. That idea eventually morphed into this parlor game, wherein movie buffs challenge each other to find the shortest path between an arbitrary actor and prolific Hollywood character actor Kevin Bacon. It rests on the assumption that any individual involved in the Hollywood, California, film industry can be linked through his or her film roles to Kevin Bacon within six steps. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any such individual to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible. It can also be described as a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon.
One might say that the game demonstrates the incestuous nature of Hollywood celebrities and their work/culture.
Most Christians are probably saying, “Yeah, okay. So what?”
That’s a fair reaction.
Here’s the answer: if one types in any celebrity and the term “bacon number” into Google, it will give you the degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon, PLUS how those degrees are reached. Most actors have a “Bacon number” of no more than two or three.
We tried this with some of the false prophets and false teachers, both past and present, that infest the airwaves of so-called “Christian TV networks.” What was surprising is that many of the rich and celebrated TV elite preachers also have Bacon numbers of 2 or 3. Isn’t that interesting?
Benny Hinn’s Bacon number is 4.

How close to the world are these supposed “men of God”?
Very close.
Is this a true measure of worldliness? Maybe, maybe not. But the results are interesting to say the least.
Perhaps we’ll just state that many rich and famous TV preachers are just another class of American celebrity–the Bacon number is merely another indicator of such worldly wealth and fame.

That well-known gambling phrase ought to be the opening chant of any courtroom in America. Because throwing oneself on the mercy of the court is certainly a gamble for most.
OF COURSE, those who control the courts and their outcomes–and thus, control the laws of the land.
To the ruling elites, the courts are a sure thing.
To everyone else: they are a gamble.
Arkansas judge strikes down ban on same-sex marriage – America: the best legal system money can buy–and it was set up by the absolute smartest people who ever lived on the face of the earth: America’s founding fathers.
They were brilliant and their system has lasted for 234 years before breaking down.
That’s only about 2600 years short of some of the other historical systems.
But never fear: America is the best!

SALVATION AND BELIEF IN GOD
“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”

IN the end times, many will be deceived.
And so they are.
ONE of the more common deceptions is that a “belief in God” (some believe ANY god) will save a person from the eternal torment of hell.
It will not. (As James 2:19 makes clear.)
ANOTHER deception is that “belief in Jesus” will save someone from those same torments.
It will not.
Even the demons believed Jesus Christ was the Son of God.
“And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?”

THEN what exactly is it that will save a person from a very real eternal damnation?
One word: faith.
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to do what no person can do for themselves: save them from the righteous wrath of a Perfect Judge, God Almighty.
Faith is what has always saved a person from the wrath of God.
Faith continues to save the lost.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Placing one’s complete trust and faith in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation is the only way to heaven.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
