“I said in my haste, All men are liars.”
–Psalm 116:11
How many times has the reader heard the questions asked, “Why would so-and-so say such a thing? Is so-and-so lying?”
And so one day not long ago, the question was asked once more. And an acquaintance asked, “Why would so-and-so say such a thing? It is a lie. Why would so-and-so lie?”
Why does man lie?
It is man’s nature to lie.
Man is fallen and will not be fixed until transformed by the LORD.
Why does man lie?
Because all men lie: they cannot help but do what comes naturally.
ALL men lie. There are no exceptions.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
–Romans 3:10-12
Of course, some men (more than others) lie and concoct elaborate lies
Perhaps the reader has heard someone remark, “He lies when it would be better for him if he told the truth!”
Once again, why does man lie?
Because all men lie: they cannot help but do what comes naturally.
IF the reader thinks this sounds too simple, he should consider:
The best answer is often the simplest.
Why does man lie?
Simply, because man is a liar.
“God is not a man, that he should lie”

DOES the reader believe the stories he was told as a child that President George Washington never told a lie?
DOES the reader believe that there are “good people” who don’t lie?
It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.
DOES the reader believe he is saved?
