The OBJECT of One’s Faith

what is the object of one's faith?

“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”
–Psalm 9:10

A great many moderns have placed their faith, hope and trust for the future in a great many different things.

Some have placed their faith in wealth to see them through whatever they envision as “hard times.”

Some have placed their faith in the tales and traditions handed down through generations about the way “things really are.”

Some have placed their faith in the schemes of men: the US constitution, the court system, their lodge associations, the United States itself.

Some have placed their faith in various schemes of “survival“: gold, guns, groceries or underground bunkers.

Some have placed their faith in the trinkets and parlor tricks of familiar spirits.

Some have placed their faith in the things of the world.

Some have placed their faith in a masterful deceiver: Satan.

And lastly, some have placed their faith in the most alluring deception of all: themselves.

Their preparations; their knowledge and judgment; their abilities and willpower: these are the objects of faith for some.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
–Proverbs 3:5

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
–Proverbs 14:12

All of these various and sundry things are the OBJECTS of one’s faith: they are what one puts his trust in to see him through the “rough times.”

IN what does the reader put his faith?

IS it something other than the Creator and His Son, Jesus Christ?

It is not YET too late: there is still time to change direction (repent), place your faith for the future entirely on Jesus Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven.

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. ”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
-–Romans 1:16
